We have a lot decades in Hockey so i choose that question , since the last "big Lockout" from 2004/05 who was the best Left Wing since 2005.
Ovechkin as LW here.
My Top 10 LW.
1.Alexander Ovechkin , we all know why, one of the best Goal Scorer in NHL History. Now SC winner, and still the best goal scorer in the NHL (active).
2.Ilya Kovalchuk, Stickhandling-Game changer, more i haven't to say.
3.D.Sedin, With his brother the best twins Duo ever in the NHL, his passing abilities a great and 1 Time Art Ross Winner.
4.Thomas Vanek, Nr.35 in points in NHL History as a LW (for now), poor him he played without a star on his site,( only with Tavares 2014 for 48 GP) he was "The Sabers Offens" for 5 Years, after Briere and Dury are gone. Deflection monster and make player better on his site. 2009 he lead the league in PPG.
5.Rick Nash, i liked his style to play that game, he was always good in the PK, good sniper one Time "Maurice Richard" winner. It is sad that he end his career now really quiet a great player and a Olympic Gold Winner.
6.Dany Heatley, his best days were after 04/05 with 2 times 100+ Points in a season.
7.Patrick Sharp, a underrated player i think and was important 3 times for the Blackhawks to win the Cup.
8.Zach Parise, with the devils he was really great and a leader always.
9.Michael Camalleri, 2 Times 80+ Points, a "racer" on the ice create a lot chances always.
10.Ray Whitney, he played "long" time before too, but he has 6 times in a row 50+ Points 2 times 70+ and one tiem 80+ after 2005 , sohe was a Playmaker.
