Hello everybody

I just wanted to say a very heartfelt and genuine thank you to this community.

I frequently get caught up in arguments that I really don't think it's wise for me to participate in but when I do it frequently causes me to go back and double check the things I think are true to make sure I'm not making stuff up or getting things wrong and that makes me better at my job and protects against building false narratives in my mind which I might then pass on to other people and rightly or wrongly that actually matters to me a great deal.

SO...

long way of saying thank you for being passionate, thank you for responding to me in a way that frequently makes me want to respond with long arguments rather than just snarky short dismissive responses tho those can sometimes be funny as well.

I dunno... I just wrote and deleted a whole big long thing to @Raccoon Jesus cus I realized I was saying a bunch of stuff I probably shouldn't but I also had like four tabs open to make sure that what I was saying was actually correct and matched what I thought was correct in my head.

And that has real value to me.

Thanks Kings fans.

Also it's funny when you make fun of me when it's actually funny... which it is most of the time.

Is this not how other people post? Because it's exactly how I post!

I only argue with people I care about that have interesting, substantial, and passionate opinions that have some basis in reality.

I love that you're a part of this community and I think you walk what is a relative tightrope very well most days. The others, well, I just assume it may be the meds and you're one strong nudge away from making a really funny snarky comment but damnit, you just have too much tact.

I actually started listening to your podcast in the car during the playoffs when the Kings started choking. I needed somewhere to absorb what was going on in the series without the urge to post comments. Plus there are only so many Economist podcasts I can listen to before I need a change of pace. So, thank you.

I just want to say "You're welcome".

I knew you liked to argue when you purposefully said that Revenge of the Sith wasn’t the best star wars. But hey, I’m here for it. It’s always better to argue and show passion than ignore the existence of something that you disagree with. Makes life more fun and interesting to stand up for your convictions.

As RJ said, it is really cool that you post here. Most affiliated people would ignore it but where is the fun in that

I just want to say despite you being a complete shill and corporate lackey… sometimes you have moments of brilliance and are less stoogey. Thanks for the Luc warm moments.

Hope you picked up the sarcasm. Hope you’re feeling well dude.

Dude, that is the complete wrong way to internet!
First of all Facts. 😂
B: What are you even talking about?
In closing TLDR
(Sarcasm for those with broken detectors)

It's good having you here. Keeps people on their toes, even if you don't ask our extra dumb, rude questions in the scrum. Which reminds me, still waiting to find out when Brown is going to be GM. 😂

Yo Jesse,

By all accounts you seem like a pretty cool and down to earth dude. As a former jouralism major who never did much with it I would have loved to do your job but doubt I have the tact, constraint, or even the intelligence to do it as well as you.

I have a feeling you still have a long career ahead of you. I'm sure you love working for the Kings but for selfish reasons I'd love to see you in a neutral role one day.

Thanks again for engaging with all us knuckleheads in the forums.

I'm feeling so well so much of the time that I'm beginning to feel like a bit of a cancer fraud.

I'm used to imposter syndrome but feeling it about your own health is f***ing weird.
Not the same but different I have auto immune (lupus) and it was a struggle to get back into lifestyle that I knew. I’ve also had 7 knee surgeries.

I’m able to do Jiu Jitsu, kickboxing, and workout 5-6 days a week again. Biggest thing was just don’t try to get back to where you were in a day week or month just do a little better every day. I had to change my diet to something not easy and eat enough animal organs to rival a hot dog factory. Also have to get shots in my knees every 6 months and am on 3 religious peptide regimes.

The days when it flares back up suck but it’s just part of life. Don’t get too high on the good days or too low on the bad days. Your gonna have em no matter what. Just enjoy the good days!

I'm currently taking prednisone for days 2-5 following an infusion (Chemo infusions are day 1) and today is day 5 so there's this ramping up of energy and nervous energy which inevitably leads to a crash in days 6 and 7.

I was up at 6:30 today (which is early for me) and I have no idea what to do with myself.

prednisone is a steroid, so yeah it's like a Red Bull, jolt, and bennie cocktail

The key is to keep yourself busy and occupied. It's a great time to spackle, clean things like baseboards or knit yourself a life-size replica of the titanic

It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to claim that Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars and remove all doubt - Mark 𝚃̶𝚠̶𝚊̶𝚒̶𝚗̶ Hamill

At the risk of becoming the 2nd most disliked poster on this board, let me say emphatically that the whole Star Wars franchise sucks. Unless you are like 10-12 years old.

(And yes -- i love Sci-fi, space, new world type movies)

Yeah you’ve got me whooped on the sucks meter for sure. Sounds like your finding some consistency I imagine that’s better than the drastic life change in the beginning.

I appreciate any complex world-building endeavors, and my appreciation with Star Wars is it provided a system/canon that stood the test of time.

Sort of like Game of Thrones/Lord of the Rings stuff.

I don't get into the series as much as I used to, but I appreciate the framework of storytelling they provided.

But I'm a legit nerd who loves D&D and good world building is a huge part in telling a good story.

Yeah - before my cousin passed away from rejecting her heart transplant (this was over a decade ago, I've long-since grieved), she told me how terrible it made her feel. I certainly understand how it complicates the quality of life, even if it's supposed to help with even worse issues.

I don't post anything deep or substantial ever here but I do enjoy this community, i mean i actually hate each and every one of you at some point or another but im grateful to have a decent (just HOW many horrible video/popup ads can HF force down my throat?) place to read about the Kings and hockey in general. Many of us have been on here for a long time and have spent game after game, season after season 'with' each other.

There is a good group here, hope it continues.

I agree. Legolas would destroy the entire Siths and everything in what? Like 3 days tops?

It’s no LOTR
