Ignoring the recent Rantanen rumor, it’s no secret that guys don’t love playing for the bod, but he’s a good tactician if not a great motivator. Do you want him in Raleigh long term?

these two clauses invalidate anything else you might have to say. You may as well come in here and say “it’s no secret water is dry but the sky is green and grass is blue”

The majority of players have talked about how they love playing for RBA, and the one consistent criticism about him is that he’s not a very good tactician. So your read is VERY far off.

Also, he just signed a new 5 year contract this past offseason. It doesn’t get much more “long term” for a coach.

I don't know about Rod but this Temporary Czech is coming in hot!!!

If he’s a great motivator why do players “not love” playing for him. what’s he motivating them to do? Change their water filtration system?

I tend to now believe we should just pick a coach and then stick with him. I think the way some teams cycle through coaches is toxic to the franchise as a whole. We're also unique in that the way we play hockey is derived so much from how Rod played. He also has such a massive symbolic presence for this franchise.

He's not perfect, but I don't care. I don't ever want to replace him until Rod wants to leave. Even if his matchups or decisions directly cause us to lose a playoff series, I don't think we'll have it better with another coach, and I don't want to "the grass is greener" the situation.

Plus, I can guarantee that if Rod was fired today, 15 NHL teams would immediately pick up the phone. Many of which would can their coach today if it meant them getting Brind'Amour. Heck, he could even lead the historic Boston Bruins! 🤮

I agree, however I do wish we'd get him some other coaches who were better with "the Xs & Os", fixing the PP when it runs ice cold but continues to do the exact same f***ing thing, and could slap him silly when he gets overly loyal to certain vets...or helping him solve the overall "road woes" (which apparently we're bottom 10 on the road this season)
