The Avalanche played their best game of the playoffs in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final, shutting out the Edmonton Oilers 4-0, completely neutralizing Connor McDavid, and sending an overmatched Oilers home frustrated that their attempts to get under the Avs skin failed so miserably. Pavel Francouz started for an injured Darcy Kuemper, and posted an amazing shutout with the full support of the team and Avs nation at his back. What's the plan in net if Kuemper is healthy for Game 3? How did the Avalanche put together such a perfect performance in front of Francouz, and what adjustments did they make from Game 1? Can the Avalanche keep this up on the road in Edmonton?

The Colorado Avalanche are one win away from the Stanley Cup Final. This is real life, and this is happening. The Avalanche win Game 3 of the Western Conference Final 4-2 over the Edmonton Oilers, and lead the series 3-0. Again the Avalanche have proven that they are the better team in this series, and the rest of the world is starting to realize what we've all been talking about for so long. JT Compher proved once again he has the clutch gene, and scored one of the biggest goals of the playoffs for the GWG. Also, Evander Kane is a scumbag who does not belong in the NHL, and now Nazem Kadri is likely out for the remainder of the playoffs as a result. Kane should be suspended for the remainder of the series, which likely won't be very long, but expectations for Player Safety to do their job is low. Can the Avalanche close this series out in Game 4 as their depth continues to be tested?

The Colorado Avalanche are going to the Stanley Cup Final. They actually did it, and they did it with relative ease. They sweep the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Final, winning Game 4 6-5 in overtime with a phenomenal comeback, capped off with Artturi Lehkonen sending the Avalanche to the Stanley Cup Final. The game itself was not the Avs best performance, but it does not matter, and now they have 10 to 12 days before the beginning of the Stanley Cup Final. Enjoy every single second of this, because we all deserve this, and these are memories we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

The Avalanche have a lot of waiting to do now as they await the winner of the Eastern Conference Final for their opponent in the Stanley Cup Final. Who would be the ideal opponent for the Avalanche to play, the Tampa Bay Lightning or the New York Rangers? Also, will all this time off be good for the Avs numerous injuries, or will it disrupt their momentum? Should it be Kuemper or Francouz starting in the Final? Are the ticket prices at Ball Arena fair? Finally, did the Avalanche do the right thing by touching the Clarence S. Campbell Trophy, or will that bring back luck in the Final?

The Avalanche have their opponent for the Stanley Cup Final, and it's the two time defending champions in the Tampa Bay Lightning. This is an incredibly even series between two of the best organizations in the NHL, and the best Stanley Cup Final matchup the NHL has seen in decades. However, one of these teams has to lose and come up short of the Stanley Cup. How can the Avalanche end the Lightning's reign of terror and bring home the 2022 Stanley Cup? In a series this close, what's the most important factor for the Avalanche? Will Darcy Kuemper be able to duel with Andrei Vasilevskiy?

The Avalanche draw first blood in the Stanley Cup Final, beating the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 in overtime with a game winner from Andre Burakovsky which made Griffin, who waited his whole life for this, cry. The Avalanche played a fantastic game to draw first blood against the two time defending champs, and everybody pulled their weight for an almost perfect performance. Do the Avalanche have another level they can find as they get later in this series, and will Tampa Bay get better as well? What can we expect from Kuemper for the rest of the series after a meh first game? Can the Avalanche continue to dominate even strength and smother the Lightning with their transition game?

The Colorado Avalanche just put forth one of the most dominant games in NHL history in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final, humiliating the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-0 to take a 2-0 lead in the Final. The Avalanche dominated every aspect of this game from top to bottom, and it's been everybody doing their job perfectly and giving Tampa Bay absolutely nothing. It's the Avalanche's depth that's given the Lightning fits, and the Lightning's stars have been nowhere to be found? As this series shifts to Tampa Bay, Is there anything the Lightning can do to counter the relentless attack of the Avalanche in this series? Are they able handle a team that's just better than them.

The Avalanche got properly rocked in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, losing 6-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning and having their series lead cut to 2-1. All of the details that carried the Avs to victory in Game 2 were not there, and Tampa Bay made them pay every single time. After getting pulled in Game 3, is Darcy Kuemper's job in trouble with Pavel Francouz waiting in the wings? Now that both teams have scored blowout in this series, what can we expect as we move on to a critical Game 4 and the rest of this series? Will the Avalanche make the necessary adjustments to move with a win of the Stanley Cup?

The Colorado Avalanche are one win away from the Stanley Cup following an all time classic 3-2 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, scored by none other than Nazem Kadri in his return to the lineup. Is there anything to controversy of too many men on the winner, or is Tampa just trying to stir up drama? Darcy Kuemper had a phenomenal bounce back, posting a .949 save percentage and an assist on the OT winner. With the defending champions on the ropes, will the Avs be able to bring home the Stanley Cup in Game 5 on home ice and cap off an incredible run? Also, Cale Makar brings home the Norris trophy by a razor thin margin. Is it time he gets his respect as a top three player in the NHL?

The Avalanche had the Stanley Cup in the building, but came up short in Game 5 with a 3-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning, sending this series back to Tampa Bay for Game 6. The Avs did not have their best game, but it was far from their worst as well. However, with two more chances to close this series out, now is not the time to panic at all. The officiating was questionable, and some huge calls were missed that gave Tampa Bay a big advantage. Darcy Kuemper couldn't make the big save tonight, but the evidence suggests a bounce back game on the horizon. Can the Avs close out this series on the road in Game 6, or will Ball Arena host a winner take all Game 7 on Tuesday?

The Colorado Avalanche have won the Stanley Cup. They did it, they really did it. For the third time in franchise history the Avalanche are Stanley Cup Champions, and this core has marked themselves forever in the history books as champions. No more maybes, no more next year, it's now. The Avalanche defeated the two time defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, in a nearly perfect game to finish off what could go down as one of the best Stanley Cup Finals of all time. Cale Makar cemented himself as the best defenseman in the NHL, and plenty of other Avs secured their legacies with this victory. What happens now? Who cares, it's time to celebrate!

The Colorado Avalanche are still the Stanley Cup Champions, and it was capped off by a wonderful parade in downtown Denver, which both hosts throughly enjoyed. The celebration was a time to cherish, and the players clearly enjoyed it to the fullest. Who were the drunkest players at the parade? What else happened at the Avs first cup parade in over twenty years? However, the parade has officially marked the end of the Avalanche season, and now it's also time to start transitioning from celebration back to business with the draft less than a week away already. Are the Avs going to be able to run this team back next season, or will they have to get creative and bring in some new guys?

The offseason has officially begun, and free agency is just around the corner for the Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche, and the conversation now must shift to how many of the Avalanche's upcoming free agents they can keep before the hit the open market on July 13th. Who is the Avs most important upcoming free agent? If Darcy Kuemper walks, is there any sort of replacement out there ? Who on the second line of Nichushkin, Kadri, and Burakovsky leaves if any at all? Who among the depth players like Helm and Cogliano will come back? Also, answering listener questions about if Cale Makar should be on the NHL 23 cover and what was the Avs most important win in the regular season?

The Avalanche have made their move at goalie, acquiring Alexandar Georgiev from the New York Rangers in exchange for draft picks, and will be moving on from Darcy Kuemper. What are the Avalanche getting in Georgiev, and what fell apart with Darcy Kuemper that led to the Avs moving on? What's the plan next season in goal with Georgiev and Pavel Francouz? Could Georgiev be a long term solution? Also, some draft day chaos in the NHL, and a live reaction to Joe Sakic winning General Manager of the Year,

Free agency has begun, and the offseason is in full swing. The Avalanche have made a litany of moves over the last several days, including bringing back several key free agents while some other walk away. Val Nichushkin re-signs for eight years after an outstanding season. Josh Manson surprisingly comes back, signing a four year deal. Artturi Lehkonen signs an amazing five year contract extension for a very reasonable price. For departures, Andre Burakovsky heads to Seattle and Darcy Kuemper departs for Washington for five years each. In other news, Chris MacFarland is promoted to general manager of the Avs, while Joe Sakic is promoted to team president. Does this change anything about the Avs day to day operations? Finally, are the Avs still in on Nazem Kadri as he goes through the opening of free agency unsigned.

It's several days into free agency, and Nazem Kadri still has not signed a contract with anybody. As options for Kadri dry up, and center targets for the Avs continue to come off the market, are the Avalanche back to being the top contender to sign Kadri again? If they are going to sign Kadri, how would they do it with their limited cap space? Would a JT Compher or Sam Girard trade be necessary? Should they even sign Kadri if it means moving on from Sam Girard? Finally, looking at what a potential Nathan MacKinnon extension could look like, and the long term outlook of the team.

It's a week after free agency, and things have dried up for the Avs. Nazem Kadri has STILL not signed with anybody, and the wait is starting to get exhausting. Up north in Calgary, Matthew Tkachuk has informed the Flames that he will not be signing a long term contract with them, making a trade . For pure hypothetical reasons, what would a trade for Matthew Tkachuk look like for the Avs, and what would they need to give up. Finally, some listener questions about 2C options, Nathan Mackinnon's extension, and the Winter Classic.

News has dried up for the Avs lately, and there is STILL no updates on Nazem Kadri. However, one of the biggest trades in recent NHL history happened on Friday night, as Matthew Tkachuk was traded from the Flames to the Florida Panthers in a package that included Jonathan Huberdeau. Who won this deal, and how will it age? Also, the Blue Jackets made one of the dumbest moves of the offseason by cap dumping Oliver Bjorkstrand to Seattle. With all this going on, has any of the balance of power shifted, and is there anybody to challenge the Avs.

Another day, another episode talking about how Nazem Kadri has not signed anywhere. What's going on with this free agency class where there are still several high tier free agents still unsigned? How much longer will players like Nazem Kadri and John Klingberg be on the market? Will the Avalanche make any more moves to fill the gap at second line center, or are they content to move forward with what they have and address it later? Where will the rest of the remaining free agents end up?

It's the dead of the offseason, and the guys are out of ideas of even the slightest things to talk about as news has dried up nearly entirely in the league. The Avs signed Anton Blidh to a one year contract, . Also, Max Pacioretty called the Vegas Golden Knights a "country club" with no internal expectations after being traded to the Hurricanes, and we break our favorite activity, dunking on the Golden Knights. Finally, discussing our favorite moments of the past Stanley Cup season, and what the plan is for the rest of the offseason.

The season review/preview for the Colorado Avalanche begins with the heart of the Avs offense, Nathan MacKinnon. MacKinnon had a season that was constantly disrupted by injury, but finished on an incredible hot streak and a Stanley Cup victory. What can we expect next season for MacKinnon, and can he finally capture that elusive 100 point season and Hart Trophy?

The Avalanche season review/preview series continues with Mikko Rantanen, the Avs leader in goals and points in the regular season. Despite some frustrating stretches, Rantanen's talent was able to override some off nights as he continued to rack up points, even during the playoffs when the goalscoring dried up. With a career best season and a Stanley Cup victory in the books, can Rantanen emerge into the same elite superstar conversation as MacKinnon and Makar? Will he care out his own role of second line center this season with Kadri likely gone?
