Are both Benn and Keith out? Ouch they are tough to replace even for Canada.

Tough to replace, possibly. You can't replace players like Benn, Stamkos, or Keith. But it's no biggie imo. We have a lot of great players and there's still Letang, Subban, Hall, or Perry waiting I'm a little bit sad for Benn and Keith, because of course you want your best players like that playing, but not because the team would be weaker. The depth is amazing and it will show once again.

Wouldnt Subban or Letang be a better replacement for Keith than Bouwmeester? I guess Bouwmeester was Canadas 1st reserve no matter the role.

I would pick Letang. I don't know what they have in minds, so let's see, but how can you not trust Babcock and the coaching stuff that has won us 2 olympic golds in a row, they must be doing something right. It's their decision and if they feel this player, or these 23 players are gonna be our best chance to win this tournament, I trust them. I never look at the teams like "they could've picked someone else". No. This is the best team we can have right now, period.

This tournament is feeling more and more pointless. Benn, Keith and McDavid not playing for Canada (+ Bouwmeester selected over Subban/Letang/Giordano), Gaudreau, Eichel, Kessel and Saad not playing for the US, Team Europe that not even the linked countries care about, bleh.

Well, yes. The idea of another World Cup was interesting because it was another best-on-best tournament. We only get to see that every 4 years. The inclusion of a Team "Rest of Europe" and a U-24 team made it gimmicky.
