It's this "can't be bothered because reasons" mentality that produces also-ran WC USA teams. If we've "gotta be realistic" then nothing will change.

I was referring to the larger issue of apathy among American players, although Swayman's apparent reluctance is a fine example of this unfortunate attitude.

After we start to have the best on best tournaments in every two years it is hard to see that we are going to send anything else to Worlds than NCAA kids and 3-4 liners from the show.

So nothing changes...

DeAngelo is out of contract. Otherwise, he would be a great addition to the defense. Especially on the big ice, I think he would be one of the most effective defenders in the tournament.

This year is starting to feel very familiar. First a promising start. Then nothing for many days and when the team is finally announced it is very typical mediocrity.

Btw, who is building the team this year?
