Personally, I don’t believe you can acquire toughness you need to breed it and make it an organic part of your organization. Adding a Hartnell or even a Reeves doesn’t all the sudden make you tough.

It all starts with the tone from the top. Gorton and Quinn seem to be setting it.

Of course. But you need guys who can play, as well. And guys the coach trusts. Guys like Wilson and Reeves aren't going to be as effective if they're playing 4th line minutes.

You are right. Gorton and Quinn will need to put such players into roles where there are on the ice for decent periods of the game.

Didn't watch that game, but all I remember hearing and reading was that the Rangers yet again got ran out of the building.

The Rangers pretty much did. We lost 5-2. We got outhustled and outhit the entire game. Within a minute we've got two guys concussed on separate plays--both of them dirty hits. Skjei had a nothing fight with Johansen after the Vesey injury. Skjei's first fight ever and he definitely didn't win. McLeod asking Austin Watson but Watson not interested and after that McLeod in his few other shifts was invisible. It was the day that experiment with McLeod ended for me. Nobody really stood up IMO.
