I dont see any of current active forwards making it outside of Maybe W Nylander, as of right now.

Among Ds its Hedman and Karlsson in. Keep in mind this is the prime versions of Hedman and Karlsson.

I guess Markström could steal a 3rd spot as the goalie.

Kenny Jönsson is one of the most underated players in the history of hockey. He was amazing. Best D in 2006 Olympics, a tournament that had many allstars and legends.

The 5 Ds are no brain brainers but the 6th is up for grab. There is no clear 6th. Depends on what you like. I think i go with Öhlund. He was great defensivly, big, physical and skilled offensivly. He was the complete package.

I only picked few from pre 80s, we had good players pre 80s but i dont think they are better than the latter generations we had.

Renberg pre 98 was a MONSTER.

No clear rules how to pick the team, you make them own.

Henrik Lundqvist
Pelle Lindbergh
Jacob Markström

Börje Salming - Nicklas Lidström
Victor Hedman - Kenny Jönsson
Mattias Öhlund - Erik Karlsson

Daniel Sedin - Henrik Sedin - Daniel Alfredsson

Markus Näslund - Peter Forsberg - Mats Sundin

Mats Näslund - Kent Nilsson - Håkan Loob

Henrik Zetterberg - Thomas Steen - Mikael Renberg

3 offensive lines, the 4th line is a checking unit. If i remember correctly Sundin could play wing, or was it Forsberg?

Sundin did play some wing. So did Kent.

Tomas Sandstrom should make that team.

IMO, Stefan Persson was much better than Jonsson.

With honorary spots given to Anders Hedberg and Ulf Nilsson.

Niklas Backstrom ?
Yes as 4c perhaps. But Steen is more gritty. There is also Bengt Åke Gustafsson who was a great center for the caps.

Weinhandl getting his spot on the team 2010 ! 🤢

Yeah Sandström was a good one.

Better than Tomas Jonsson but Kenny Jönsson aswell?

Did not Hedberg and Ulf play on the same line?

Samuelsson probably figured as he was enjoying a career year with the Sedins, and also was on the Olympic roster in 2006, his chances making the team were particularly strong in 2010. I didn’t remember Weinhandl actually playing on the Sedins’ line in 2010, but it seems he were.

Did they make up a line in MoDo in 1999-00? From his higher point totals, I would expect Magnus Wernblom to have been the Sedins’ RW in Weinhandl’s only season with the twins, but it’s possible there were a historical link between Weinhandl on a line with them. @sr edler do you remember?

Why can all of these all time teams cover all eras but the Russian one has to be from the 1990s onward?

Yeah, they played together. Wernblom, I can't remember, outside of him being a PP presence. I don't remember too much about the player (Weinhandl) though, except he was a right-handed shot and a trigger guy on that line. Just kind of a standard scoring winger.

Samuelsson had a bit of an unexpected trajectory, he was definitely not someone you thought would carve out a decent NA career.

Lindbergh
Lundqvist
Lindmark

Lidström. Hedman.
Albelin. Karlsson. Salming.
Kenny Jonsson.

Naslund & Naslund. Sedin & Sedin.
Hedberg. Loob. Steen ( old one).
Gradin. Forsberg. Sundin. Alfredsson. Nilsson.
Gustafsson. Zetterberg. T.Sandström

I wondered the same thing. It's easy enough to leave out non-Russians that played for the Soviet Union, such as Balderis.

Basically, all Russians minus Balderis and Irbe

Albelin ahead of Öhlund?

Yes. My opinion. And I think we could add Eldebrink
Albelin was a very mediocre player. We have better Ds than him.

And Eldebrink was not good enough for NHL.

Tomas Jonsson, Stefan Persson, Öhlund, Kjell Samuelsson, Ulf Samuelsson, Calle Johansson, Kronwall, Norström, Olausson, Dahlin, Kim Johnsson, Ekholm, Brodin are all ahead of Eldebrink and Albelin.

Sweden has a lot of good players.

William Nylander is good enough to make the team, and Lucas Raymond, based on ability, is getting close.
Raymond is not getting close. He played like 3 seasons in NHL. He is a RW. Who would he kick out? Loob, Alfredsson, Sandström and Renberg is ahead of him.

I guess I picked Albelin because he of his performance at Canada Cup and NJ.

I don't get the Sedins on the first line, at their peak they didn't really stand out at the 10 Olympics and the guy that did Niklas Backstrom isn't on your team?

I'm also not sure that I'd had renberg on your team, surely there is a better winger out there, maybe Bratt?

Also Kenny Jonsson can be replaced by Niklas Hjalmarsson or one of the many other big defensive dmen that Sweden has produced over time like Ekholm.

Sedins where amazing players in NHL with amazing chemistry. The 3 first lines are all even, all are 1st lines, i would roll them equal. If Bäckström is in, it would be T Steen out which im okay with.

Renberg in his prime was a monster, part of legion of doom. He gives us some grit.

As i said before, K Jönsson was very underated. I would not switch him out for Hjalmarsson or Ekholm.
