Team officially unveils new name - Utah Mammoth

I liked Fury and Mammoth. Having history behind the Mammoth name is awesome. It will be odd for a while but I bet it's one of people's favourite names in the future.

Brown/light brown colour would be cool too. Maybe alternative jersey!

In the main logo I see the mountain, what appears to be a ski run(s), and a "M" within the logo. As for the map of Utah, I wonder if they're referring to one of the secondary logos. Specifically the one with the state's outline that says Utah and has a hockey stick in it. (I tried, but I can't sit through the entire reveal, not being from Utah, haha)

Ahhh, ok. I see it now. It's the states outline with the bottom part made to look like an M for Mammoth instead of being sqaured. It took a minute for me to see past what looked like 2 pyramids at first, but your crude artwork did the trick lol. Thanks!

I sometimes have to remind myself that people who aren't from a certain place often don't actually know what the approximate shape of other places looks like on a map. I do because I'm a nerd, therefore I can spot the shape of Long Island in the Islanders' logo easily, but I'm not most people when it comes to that.

I didn’t either, there was a very brief hi lite of it in their video release, that I couldn’t discern accurately at first viewing. I found that release boring and couldn’t bring myself to rewatch, but having remembered the general location, I figured it out.
