Team officially unveils new name - Utah Mammoth

From a feral dog to a hairy pachyderm, it took a year for the morphication. I guess it's to be expected when you relocate to the other side of the Grand Canyon. The franchise finally ditched the Coyote from the spirit world, the "Trickster", always getting into mischief and brought an Elephant into the room, time to get serious...

Elephants are one of the most dangerous animals to humans. Each year 100 to 500 humans die from elephants. You see a bull in the wild and you view points would change. Nobody screws with a wild elephant.

*ahem* (yeah, I know it's obvious, but I did call this 3 months ago :D )

Nobody likes a know it all :p - great call though!

Things are only going up from here. Got a top 5 pick in the draft, free agency soon, now, a new name. I like the name. Sure, logo could be slightly bolder. But, it'll grow on me. Already looking forward to getting some swag to represent down here in Lake Havasu City. (Just moved here a couple days ago.)

how about an extinct elephant though? "We'd be dangerous...if we still existed!"

With the way our roster building is going, you could say this about the Arizona Coyotes as well. :P

We "don't exist anymore" as a legal technicality, since the Utah Mammoth are considered a "new franchise" born of an existing hockey operations department.

The only thing I hate is the mountain head on top of the logo. Bad decision. But it does look good on the jersey in the video on twitter.
It seems to me like they were going to go with that element regardless of what the name was. The logo they suggested for sticking with hockey club was this exact thing with a yeti face
