Team officially unveils new name - Utah Mammoth

I don’t mind the logo …I think they could have done better, but I don’t mind it … I just don’t like the kit… I thought it was ok for having to put something together in 5 months or so … but this just seems lazy …. It doesn’t ring NHL to me.. hopefully it grows on me

Not a great name. Plural Mammoths, Outlaws, Coyotes, Mountaineers, pretty much any pluralized animal would have been better choices. The singular thing is just weird.

I don't like it. Mammoths are basically just elephants. Elephants are stereotyped as slow lazy animals. They are not cool like Panthers, Sabretooth Tigers, Sharks, other fast predatory like animals that make for cool logos for a sports team. Also I hate the logo. It looks like it was made in 10 seconds in AI. It looks like a colouring book cut out. If you are going to pick a animal as the logo for your team at least put some details into the logo/artwork. The more simple it is the more it looks like a child could have made it for their art class, the more lame it is. Also wish they didn't use baby blue colours. That is already seattles colours. I like when clubs come up with their own unique colours for their sports clubs.

The only thing I hate is the mountain head on top of the logo. Bad decision. But it does look good on the jersey in the video on twitter.

Feel like this feature of the logo should be more prominent.

So our biggest rival should now be the Nashville Predators, in the Extinct Animal Logo Division (and if we ever discover remains of a colossal octopus, add Seattle as well)

We're even in the same division as Nashville! I like it.

Still getting the hang of being in the Central Division... it's vaguely similar to when the Rams relocated from St. Louis to Los Angeles. Took me a few years to properly hate them on the principle of the matter for being an LA team. The Cardinals' playoff loss to them I think is what sealed it.

Once we reach the playoffs and presumably face off in the first round against another team from the Central, that'll probably do it for me in hockey as well.
