It's Dan. Anton was the better player for most of his 3 year tenure than Dan was (particularly later in that tenure) but you gotta consider the whole body of work and their usage.

Girardi got 20+ minutes of Even Strength ice time a game, vs 16 for Anton. And he was a top dog on the PK (3+ minutes a game) vs only 1 minute per game for Anton. Yeah the fancy numbers aren't kind to Dan but he consumed minutes and limited risk even though he bled some shots.

And I am a guy who thinks letting Anton walk after extending Girardi/Staal was one of hte biggest mistakes this franchise has ever made.

It's not even close. I am sure we can figure out who the 4 DeAngelo votes are.
Lol come on. I was only 14 in 2010. Although, I do fondly remember Girardi, even though Stralman was better. Girardi was a great Ranger, but I have to go based on raw talent here, and ADA is my favorite NHLer as well. Can I get a pass for that?

I can't hold stuff like Corsi and zone exits and all that against DG because when he broke in and for years after, that wasn't really a point of emphasis. The game was different and the advanced stats hadn't really gained widespread acceptance.

Baseball now is about the three true outcomes. Hitters are focused on different things than they were 20 years ago.
