After what I have seen in the pre tour games from our backs I must say the depth isn't good.
A guy like Ole Julian Holm should be given a chanche. He have played well in the AHL for Cleveland and is back from injury.

Lilleberg. They're(Tampa) 3-1 down against Florida Panthers so it is a very good chanche now that Emil Lilleberg will join team Norway,

With Stian Solberg and Emil Lilleberg we will be a lot stronger on the back spot.

D:
Solberg-Lilleberg.
Johannesen-Ole Julian Holm
Krogdahl-Nørstebø
Vold Engebråten.

F:
Here we will have to hold a spot open for either Mathias Emilio Pettersen or Michael Brandsegg Nygård. They face each other in the AHL Calder cup. Texas Stars vs. Grand Rapid Griffins. The losing team will release their norwegian player.

Mats Zuccarello: His team have 2-2 in matches against Vegas Golden Knights. Vegas is a strong team. So I say 60-40 in favor Vegas here. Then we might have Mats Zuccarello released 5th May. Then he'll have 4 days to get to Denmark. If he says yes.

Is Holm on the outs with the federation? He should be more than good enough for this team.

He(Holm) and Philip Granath were expelled from the squad in 2024 WC since they drank beer inside the arena during WC2024.

Granath is back in the squad,
We will se if Holm is forgiven as well?

I think the coach wanted to show the young players, that they need to show a better attitude if they want to play for the national team.

Yep - It's not ok to drink beer in the stands. They are professionals.

Philip Granath has left the pre-camp. He was suspended from the National team regarding an incident that took place over a year ago. The suspension is now repealed, however it seems that our coach obviously has an agenda against him. I just don't get it. He is one of our best forwards and was our best forward in our pre-camp game vs Hungary two weeks ago. The depth on our National team roster is weak enough as it is.
What is our coach Tobias Johansson thinking?

Philip Granath is an excellent skater with high intensity in his game. He have been good in the pre tour, so I would have expected him to play as a middle six forward(2nd or 3rd line). The chemistry between him(Granath) and coach Tobias Johansson is obviously not the best.
From what I read about it on nitten.no:
Granath forlot landslagssamlingen: - Sender veldig feil signal

Granath was told that he competes for the 14th forward position, and he'll sit as a reserve on the stands in the WC to wait for the forward we will fly in from America, later in the tournament when 2nd round in Calder cup is over. Brandsegg Nygård or Emilio Pettersen. He then decided to leave the squad/group and not be a part of the team.

According to tv2 this has nothing to do with the previous conflict. Both Granath and coach Johansson confirms that to tv2.
Skuffet Granath forlot landslaget etter møte med sjefen

So a dissapointed player that didn't want to sit as a 14th forward and reserve with very little chanche to get any icetime at all.

The Norwegian hockey federation have started talks with Mats Zuccarello to find out if he wants to play for Team Norway in the WC.
Hockeytopp jobber for Zuccarello-spill i VM: – Litt prematurt ennå

He have to go through some exit talks and a health check with his NHL team Minnesota Wild that were knocked out of the Stanley cup tonight against Las Vegas. We will see what the outcome will be.

He has hands of stone. Not really someone who will produce points. There is others who can work hard like he does.

A 2-1 win after OT today against Latvia in the last pre tour game. Latvia won 2-1 in OT yesterday.
Needs to work with the offense and PP, good defense and we conceded few goals.
Two goals by Jacob Berglund today.

Many Latvian supporters on the stands in Asker Norway, and they were loud.

Lilleberg, Solberg and Johannesen did not play. They are confirmed to arrive in Herning, Denmark next week.
Zuccarello nothing decided yet: They will continue talks with his club Minnesota Wild and Mats.

I think the final WC squad will be presented early next week. Maybe Monday.

I think he could do a decent job as middle six forward. 2nd or 3rd line.
His production is not the best though, but his skating and intensity are among the best in this team. My opinion is that he is good enough for a spot in the final squad, maybe in the 3rd line. Depends if and when Brandsegg Nygård arrives, and if Zuccarello will join.

Zuccarello declined
Disappointing given that he is fit, and with no injuries
«Zucca»-nei til VM: - Trenger å ta vare på kroppen sin

Haukeland having problems with his kidney. Normann will replace him. We have some depth on the goalkeeper position now, so that's manageable. Normann have played well for Frölunda in SHL.

Game 2 for Grand Rapids tonight vs. Texas Stars tonight. Brandsegg-Nygård.
Hopefully the series will be finished within 4 games so that we have him, or Emilio ready for match 3 vs. Germany.

The team will be presented tomorrow.

Full roster. Haukeland is missing in goal, while Birkheim Andersen and Hurrød was cut on D. Nørstebø has left the squad due to family reasons. Knold cut on F.

Johannessen still at home with a baby coming very soon, while they will leave a spot open for either Brandsegg-Nygård or Pettersen who still plays AHL-playoffs.

Is Normann or Arntzen goalie in tournament or will they play 50/50?

My guess for the starting lineup based on what we saw in the pre-tour and history.
