you're giving me way too much credit. I would gladly take a loss in exchange for even a 1 point Bedard game. Doesn't even have to be a primary assist.
If the Hawks ever cave to the woke lunatics and change their name, the Chicago Bedards would be a great choice. someone with too much time on their hands and some computer skills needs to do a work up on logo and jersey design asap. Obviously start with replacing the indian head with a Bedard head.

Good scouting and a competent GM is what Hawks should strive for, not losing to make their job easier. As has been mentioned umpteen times, a losing culture is difficult to turn around. Look around the league. It's loaded with teams who seem to be rebuilding year after year only to tread water when it comes to real results.
Edmonton seemed to survive its many trips to the lottery without being stuck with a losing culture.

Davidson did a good job this offseason putting NHL talent back on the roster. This way we can still be a lotto team without being an embarrassment. You can already tell the difference this season where our record is still trash but the games are much more watchable. It’s a great balance.
We need another franchise talent. No other way around it. Bedard and maybe Levshunov isn’t going to cut it. We can have a good culture while still losing games and acknowledging we’re a young team trying to get better. Both things are possible.

Well IF Bedardvpulls another 2 for 65 stretch of poor goal scoring g ,he will get roasted by me that same as I did before calling hom out for poir finishing/not beating goaliesxenough per shotscon goa..Since then he has scored 2 more goals which uos his shoitibg% a bit...BUT if you shoot poorly for so long and you come with a game where as ax2st liner with Po1 time and you generate just 2 shotsvongoal..that is not so good either.
It does not help that TT is in a 5 game goal slump himself Nd coukd notvgenerateca shotvon goal last night.
Bottom line: this "dynamic dup" has got to do a lot more scoring goals for the Blackhawks..no sugar catibg fails.
Sure on PPs they are handicapped by "I cannot seem to hit the net$9.5" or "I muck up keep in attempts at the blueline and puck exitsout due to my mis-handling" $9.5 "1D" ...but you goita overcome your albatross anchors if you want to be a "star".
It also does not help if Hawks pkay no Dman as lousy as Jones to allow Bedard or Ttto so easily blow past him like Jones allowed McKinnonto so easily get by him...Jones was in position to cut him off but got tangled trying to move his own feet ..no opps dman Bedardvor Tt woukd ever pull of such an Epic Embarrassment ...even the slow Connor Barfy when in position would somehow at least push McKinnon wide around the net ..It is ironic that Barfy played McKinnon more competently than Jones did.. We expect McKinnon to do that to Barfy...not to thecathletic Jones..but you know Jones always finds sone wY to goof when leastcexpected(he is in position for a stop or for a box-out or for a block...or for an exit...but somehow he still finds a way to fail and a goal results.
Not saying Jobeschascto vevoerfection...but if you are there in position...you gottacorevent a goal unless unlucky by a flukes deflection.. But Jones was not unlucky....rather just a fail on a basic check that has to be made if you are in position.. which he was!
If somebody beats Murphy in a puck race...that is expected.. cannot blame Murphy given his slow speed...You cM wish to get somebody faster and better.
But Jonesvis actualky more frustrating...how do you get embarrassed like that ?More embarrassment...perfect set-up for him and misses the net from 10 feet out !
Have a Po 1 and he mishandled puck and it goes out over the line running the Po pressure..
So ironically Murphy pkays maybe his best game of the season.. and Jones as usual hurtscthe team with gaffes and goofs..

If you pick top 4, then obviously a lot of time to go, but that likely means you're guaranteed one of Hagens, Martone, Frondell or Misa. I'd be pretty excited with any of those outcomes and what they mean for the Hawks future.

No one is losing to make their jobs easier. I don't get what your generation (assuming you're a boomer), doesn't get about this. This is not the NHL of the mid-90s. We've been under a hard cap for a long time, it's not hard to see how teams become great and win.
The Hawks didn't win Cups because they made savy trades. They won Cups because they drafted Toews and Kane at 1st and 3rd overall and Duncan Keith turned into a stud in the second round.
The Penguins didn't win Cups because they had a competent GM. They won cups because they drafted Crosby and Malkin 1st and 2nd overall, and Letang turned into a stud as a third round pick.
The Lightning didn't win Cups because they have a secret recipe. They drafted Stamkos and Hedman 1st and 2nd overall and Kurcherov and Point turned into studs as second and third round picks.
There are *obviously* other elements at play but the biggest thing all those teams had in common was having star players and the fact of the matter is that you draft those players and it's a hell of a lot easier to draft them when you're at the top of the draft board.
Even the Panthers, who are seen as some great example of how you can build a team in other ways, still drafted Ekblad and Barkov 1st and 3rd overall in their drafts and they used another player they drafted 3rd overall to acquire Tkachuk. So, not really that different.

The salary cap has great intentions but if teams feel the only way to get ahead is to stoop to purposely losing for years on end then NHL hockey has lost its way. Fans pay big bucks to attend games; they deserve better.... and IMO, if they feel their team is losing purposely they should stay away from the rink.

I'm positive players don't tank. When a guys on the ice he's playing to win because he has nothing to gain from his team getting a high draft pick who could potentially replace him. And not to mention if the team continuously sucks he and all his teammates will get replaced when a new coach/GM comes in and wants his own players.
No player in any sport is going to lose out on a paycheck for the franchises good at his own expense.

I'm more interested in the player (soon-to-be players) who will be the needle movers for a future contention window doing well and growing than I am in the team performance of a team that will be finishing in the basement again. Once we move towards competitiveness it changes.

From Bedard, Celebrini and Michkov, Celebrini would be player he built his team.

Like what do they want Bedard to do? There’s barely anyone worth a damn on the team, do they want him going full tilt trying to fight players and run them through the boards? He can’t do it by himself.
Kimmo should shut up, Hawks had to drag his corpse to a cup because he didn’t have that fighting spirit in his prime I guess.
