Will be really interesting to see Finland without Jalonen. I dont think anyone who was on the 4 nations will play at this tournament.

Perfect chance for Tolvanen, Macceli, Kiviranta, Pärssinen, K Kapanen, Puljärvi, Valimäki, Kupari, Pyyhtiä, Räty, Heinola to battle for a spot in the Olympics, if they are available.

S Helenius, K Helenius, Puustinen, Kemell, Lambert, Hyry, Jääskä, Innala, Nyman, Koivunen perhaps too.

Hämeenaho, Leppänen, Kiiskinen, Marjala, O Kapanen are some interesting players in Europe.

Saros coming would be a great start. It has been awhile since Finland had an NHL starter in WC, although it hasn't really mattered that much to be honest. Hopefully he can excite some other bigger names to join. I am mainly looking at Teräväinen, Tolvanen, Määttä and Vaakanainen at this point. If Saros comes, I don't know if Luukkonen and Lankinen will though.

An attempt on a possible team;

Maccelli - Kapanen - Tolvanen
Nyman - Borgström - Puistola
Hämeenaho - Mäntykivi - Jesse Kiiskinen
Räty - Koivunen - Björninen

Lehtonen - Rissanen
Salo - Thompson
Leppänen - Kinnunen

Saros
Larmi
Lehtinen

Young and exotic team.

Finland has more options from NHL this year than f.ex last year. Especially on G.

Saros
Korpisalo
Luukkonen
Annunen
Lankinen
Blomqvist

Määttä
Vaakanainen
Tuomisto

Teravainen
Tolvanen
Maccelli
Puustinen
Raty
Koivunen
Pyythia

Could scramble together quite a nice team if some of the big names says yes. Although short on D.

He will, but if Firebirds loses on first round he can join the team.

It is possible but for some reason team Finland hasn't been eager in inviting AHL players in the past. Would like to see Nyman at least at the camp if his team gets eliminated early.

This might change now with a coaching change. It is worth of mention that Pennanen surely knows Nyman as he coached him for the majority of previous two seasons.

Yep.

And you can already see some of Pennanen familiars in this team getting their chance. Päkkilä debuting. Tikka coming back after some years. Leino is not that surprising but probably gets better chance. That is pretty natural.
