Janne Naukkarinen looks pretty good for SaiPa. Smart player and has good compete level. Skating seems decent too. 7 points in 16 games in Liiga. Dark horse to make WJC team?

Yep. Not sure how are going to handle roles in 3rd or 4th lines. They could go crazy with 4 scoring lines.

Nyman-Helenius-Hämeenaho
Kaskimäki-Lassila-Kemell
Naukkarinen-Keskinen-Hemming
Kiiskinen-Kumpulainen-Halttunen

Honestly no idea what Mikkola is planning to do with all those wingers. Other option is no Kemell and they pick grinders instead on the bottom 6.

Is it confirmed that Kemell is out? If so my interest for this tournament just plummeted. We need him.

somewhere around nothing
About a month to go

Jani Nyman - Konsta Helenius - Joakim Kemell(C)
Aleksanteri Kaskimäki(A) - Oiva Keskinen - Lenni Hämeenaho
Rasmus Kumpulainen - Jere Lassila - Emil Hemming
Max Koskipirtti - Tom Leppä - Samu Bau
Kasper Halttunen

Arttu Kärki - Otto Salin
Emil Pieniniemi - Veeti Väisänen
Kalle Kangas - Kasper Kulonummi(A)
Jesse Pulkkinen

Niklas Kokko
Eemil Vinni
Visa Vedenpää

Going for size and reach, we are not losing any board battles and forwards with long sticks can help that weak defense. Those extra centers should also bring more "defensive-mindset" to the lines. Pucks to net and 1 player always driving straight to the war zone. Gritty, blue-collar hockey.
Well my prediction doesn't change much

Nyman - Helenius - Hämeenaho
Kaskimäki(C) - Keskinen - Halttunen
Kumpulainen - Lassila(A) - Hemming
Bau - Koskipirtti - Männistö
Kiiskinen

Same defense

No Kemell wtf.
Maybe Nashville has a plan to call Kemell up some point this season.
And if i'm toally honest that's a right call Kemell is graduated from juniors.

His goals are now in the NHL and that's exactly how it should be.
Kemell is Nashville's player and Nashville decides when and where
he plays so Finnish association can't do nothing else than deal with the decision.

That’s a big loss, but maybe they are still negotiating his release?
How missing Kemell is big loss for Finland?
We aren't medal favorites this year and advancing to quarterfinals is a OK result for that team.

Put Pulkkinen with Salin.
Salin lacks toughness, grit, size and physicality and he can't defend even his own shadow.
Pulkkinen is 6'6 giant so let him be stay at home dman when Salin is puck-moving dman.

No f**k Nashville for not releasing Kemell if that's the case.

Usually i'm quite optimistic before this tournament, but Jääkiekkoliitto makes it pretty hard nowadays. First they built an identity to Finnish hockey and now they are wrecking it with these coaches. Basically they hire coaches to our national teams that flopped in Liiga and don't even care to continue that Jalonen/Pennanen tradition.

After Lämsä disaster last year, i don't want to torture myself with Mikkola. If anything, i'm more focused on individual players and we sure have few very interesting ones.

Seriously? What a weird way to look at things.
Are you stupid or total idiot?
Kemell is done with junior national teams and his career in U20 WJC's is over.

If Kemell wants to IIHF worlds tournament this season
he can join to Team Finland's IIHF men's worlds training trainig camp
when Nashville's NHL is over after regular season and Millwaukee Admirals is not making to AHL playoffs.

Find it a bit funny that Kulich will play for Czechs but no Kemell for us lol. Every year it's something I guess..
How in the hell that regards to Team Finland?
Kulich is a Czech just an notice.

So can we keep this thread only Finnish players and Finland's U20 WJC team.
If you guys wanna talk other players do it somewhere else.

F**k Nashville. This is a major blow to the team. I don't see anyone else being able to lead this team. And I was just starting to feel the hype..
That's it then and lets move on.
Nashville didn't want release Kemell due to injury risk
because their plan clearly is to call Kemell up later this season.
