If we add some projected players from the Liiga finals, goalies and defense are not that much worse. About even, actually.
Offense, however, is currently perhaps the most underwhelming we've seen during the modern era. But at the same time, the line between underwhelming and decent is really, really thin. Just a couple of NHL-caliber forwards, one of them a centre, could put us roughly on par with some of the other years we've seemingly had a "bad" team but still have done reasonably well. It still wouldn't be as good as last year, but I'd say we're just a true-and-tested first line centre away from being a dark horse.
On the other hand they never had comparable team to this year’s. Last year they played only one bad match, against stacked Sweden.
The disparity between this team and the other countries teams is staggering. Like an AHL team forced to play several NHL dynasty teams.
This tourney used to be more balanced in terms of high-level player turnout from different countries. When it's like this, it puts a damper on the legitimacy of the whole tourney.

So I can't take this tournament seriously because of the huge differences between the teams. What can we expect in future? Finland with Mestis players,Division 1(SWE),Lique Magnus,DEL2,Asia League?

I hope saros still says yes and they only forgott to make a press release otherwise its very disapointing if a Young Goalie with less than 30 games needs much time to say yes if he is healthy

In my notes, Vehviläinen is the preferred goalie, but Säteri should at least be a better backup than any of our other candidates. He'd also bring some experience into the goalie trio. Without him, I see them going with Vehviläinen-Larmi-Lankinen, and that would be a really untested threesome.
