Lineup for the SUI game was:

Innala - Luostarinen - Turkulainen
Koivula - Ikonen - Heponiemi
Vesalainen - Kupari - Nurmi
Moilanen - Koppanen - Laavainen

Välimäki - Kotkansalo
Juolevi - Jokiharju
Salo - E.Räsänen

Halonen (9/11 saves) and Lehtinen (12/12 saves) split the duties.

Koivula 1+0
Vesalainen 1+0
Moilanen 1+0
Kotkansalo 1+0
Heponiemi 0+1
E.Räsänen 0+1
Koppanen 0+1
Innala 0+1

I don't think we can draw much conclusions here what are Ahokas' intentions for the final lineup when so many profilic forwards were sitting. But I guess potting a good win even with such patchwork lines is a good indicator.

There won't be any highlights (also the reason as to why there was so little info) because the game wasn't televised. Apparently the same applies to the next game vs. the Czechs.

Do you guys think Rasanen can secure a top 6 spot? Nice to see him get an apple

Hard to say with such a strong crop. There are five names (Heiskanen, Vaakanainen, Juolevi, Välimäki, Jokiharju) no one's ousting from the lineup, and then you have a pretty even battle between Salo, Kotkansalo and Räsänen for the remaining honors. So I'd say it's possible but by no means a given. We'll see soon.

Those are some crazy F line up mixes
- Ahokas seriously "playing the field" here (rightfully so)

Hopefully our F line up looks something like this VS Canada

Heponiemi-ARäsänen/Kuokkanen-Tolvanen
Vesalainen-Kuokkanen/ARäsänen-Turkulainen
Koivula-Koppanen-Tuulola
Moilanen-Kupari-Nurmi

Ikonen

I'm gonna be shocked if Ahokas plan is to spread the talent to all lines,so to speak
Lets say...by putting Heponiemi to 2nd line, that would be so wrong, tactically so poor
- we have 2 crazy good forwards in these games; other one is otherwordly playmaker
and the other...well KH-*******L :) We-just-have-to-utilize-that-to-best-possible-way

Those lines only look "crazy" because Kuokkanen, Tolvanen and Räsänen were sitting. Insert them into the lineup and it starts to make much more sense. So whining about the shuffling here is like complaining that water is wet.

Who cares if Hepo is on 2nd or 1st line? Both lines will probably play just as much.

There're definitely many pros in having all your best eggs in one basket and thus potentially having a dominant unit that will deliver the game for you night in night out. However, that effect tends to lessen over time when your opponents start getting wise. A team that clearly lumps all its heavy hitters together becomes much easier to blanket.

Therefore, it's simply false to say that "spreading the wealth" is tactically poor. However, it's also false to suggest it's a better method than having a top-heavy team. Both approaches have their pros and cons.

The way one should go is dependent on the material available. Talent needs to be with talent to flourish - in other words, you don't want your best players playing with scrubs. If you only have enough talent to build one good line out of it, then sure, that's the way to go. But if the depth's there - as should be the case with this squad - there's little harm in having more than one unit with a player the opponent needs to watch out for.

In the end though, what really matters is who's clicking with who. Both approaches are for naught if the players in an unit find little chemistry amongst themselves.

The lack of coverage is ridiculous. Biggest hockey tournament of the season and nothing. And in spring we'll to know what Kukkonen and Kontiola ate for breakfast as they prepared for a group stage game against a country with 200 registered hockey players. I'm beginning to grow even more levels of hate for the abysmal creature that is finnish hockey media. Only there to feed and hype up the extremely casual fans who watch Laine's goals on urheiluruutu and the Skoda cup.

I LIRLed. Welll put. But there was at least one article about the team in HS with a pic of Heiskanen, Juolevi and Tolvanen laughing around a table, taken at Team Finland sponsor OP's headquarters some week ago. :D And something in Sport Corner :D of course.

But now when things are getting interesting, the media coverage is at best non-existent, at worst a disgrace of Finnish hack hockey media.

Not a big fan if Vesalainen and Tolvanen are put together. The concern is Heponiemi goes to waste if he doesn't play with Tolvanen.

Great playmakers don't go to waste just because they're not playing with the absolute best shooters. I too would like to see Tolvanen and Heponiemi in the same line, but something like Heponiemi-Kuokkanen-Koivula would be just fine

The coverage in this years wjc is abmysal
If you mean media hype around Finland's team it's only good Finnish click-ho journalists are finally holding their horses.

I have still nightmares on last years fiasco so i don't have much expectations to Finland's team.
Makiing to quarterfinals is good goal for Finland´this year and everything what Finnish team achieves after making quarterfinals is only a plus.

Being total underdog is always been good situation on Finland's U20 team.
