This team is brutally bad...and will go down to D2B. Only player worth of watching is Platuzic Renato, others are scum.

rendulic retire from the national team? doesnt look the like the Avs are gonna make the playoffs this year, not sure about Lake Erie. Or is he hurt?

He didn't retire, he is recovering from injury. He is going to be missed, but even without him and if everybody will be ready (Naglich is only questionable) to go we are going to be very strong on offence.

Perkovich - Murray - Glumac
Naglich - Prpic - Kinasewich

While Lake Erie is still in the hunt, I think scheduling might be a bigger issue - the tournament is run from April 13th to 19th so it actually overlaps with the AHL's regular season schedule - although Lake Erie has its last game on 12th - but that's still cutting it a little too close.

Given how it's only a six-day tournament, there's not much point in adding players once it's underway.

Croatia lost their opening game to Poland 2-1

Shots were 60-12 for Poland

Vasiljević never actually played for HPK. He has only played two matches this season, in which he represented Hermes, a team in Suomi-sarja (Finnish 3rd tier).

If Rendulics recovery has been on schedule I believe that the Avalanche will make an exception and green light him to play for Croatia after intensive rehab and scrimmaging.

Probably the safer approach for Rendulics to ease back into the game.AHL playoffs might be a little risky compared to South Korean and Dutch opposition.

I know, but for some unkown reason he is listed as HPK player.

@crobro - afaik I am not sure if he even started with ice practices yet. I am 99% sure he won't play for NT.

He's currently without a club actually.
Right. Then it's not uncommon to list the player's last pro club (as long as it has been in the ongoing season) into appropiate fields. Guess it's still to look better since you could dispute a Suomi-sarja club as pro or even semi-pro I suppose, but whatever.

Outside of renato platuzic this Croatia team is horrible.

Hopefully the men's senior team has a better world championships.

Kriksic (#23) is also player worth of watching.

First good generation that is coming is 2003./2004. Medvescak in that age category beat Jesenice in Slo league (U14) and from our perspective beating Jesenice and Olimpija is like Latvia beating Russia or in the past Czehoslovakia beating USSR.:)

Croatia gets outshot 60-12 by Estonia but squeaks by and avoids relegation winning 5-4 in regulation time.

Get this Croatian goalie to the Canadian major juniors NOW.

The recent rise of former ice hockey minnow nations such as Slovenia,Denmark,Austria and France is that sending the elite of the elite prospects from their nations to the CHL and or tier 2 to further develop with better players and competition is evident in all these countries recent rise in iihf rankings

Croatian players are simply, with few exceptions, not good enough for CHL leagues.

Yes, suprising result against Estonia, nobody in Croatia expected thos group to stay in D2A.

How does next years squad look like outside of platazic?

How does next years squad look like outside of platazic?

Platuzic and others born in 1997. can't play for U18 anymore.

I must admit that I don't know much about players younger than '97., only what I read on croatian forum from people who follows them.

If you look at their results (U16) in slovenian league this year, they should fight to avoid relegation again next year, but if you want some detail infos, you can join croatian forum and ask :)

Message board pundits are sayings it's gonna come down to Korea and croatia, that sounds about right.croatia will most likely advance with the cronucks playing.

If our Top6 will be like kulenova seka wrote (Kina + Naglich in) we'll be first favorites.

So, if all is as planned, Rendulic and Novak out (2 key players from last year), Kinasewich, Prpic, Naglich, Murray, Glumac, Perkovich, Ouzas, Dekanich in. Much stronger team than in Lithuania. Stronger in forwards, much stronger between the pipes.
I still have doubts about Kina & Naglich. :)
