I think Bob Rock would be better, he's done wonders for Metallica...

I can't believe that you guys are all ready to sack Quinn because of one loss that doesn't really even affect your chances to win gold.

I'm not Canadian, but Quinn has definitely regressed in the past few years. He may be unemployed at the end of the season.

To blame Quinn for todays misfortunes is just ignorant. Both assistant coaches should be held accountable as well. What about Hitchcock's inability to properly teach the powerplay strategy? Or Martin's system that isn't working?

Quinn is a motivator, NOT tactician, which is why he is surrounded by all-star tacticians in Hitchcock and Martin.

As with all "motivators," there is a point where the team stops listening. I think you are seeing that with both Team Canada and the Leafs right now.

Oh yes, I'm sure Team Canada has 'stopped listening' after two games. :shakehead

Get another argument that fits. You are correct with the Leafs but unfortunately for you, it doesn't fit this debate.

Just throwing his name out there and obviously he doesn't have the professional coaching experience but Brent Sutter? :dunno:

Hans Zach of Germany would teach these overpaid iceprincesses how to play.

Tom Renney would be an assistant if I had my choice.

I think Hitchcock would be a great choice for coach, but will he still be around in 2010?

I agree. Ruff and Renney would make good choices for the staff.

Well that depends. Can he teach Lecavalier to shoot? Can he teach Thornton to skate? Can he teach Doan, Bertuzzi or Iginla not to take untimely penalties? I dont think Scotty Bowman would help the sorry sack of overacheiving millionaries that disgraced our country today. Why win Gold if you got $15,000,000 in the bank? Hmmm, I guess I'd be a little less motivated too.

Pat Quinn hasn't regressed. He simply hasn't evolved.

Ken Hitchcock is a very striking name. I've read and heard a few of his interview's, and his knowledge astounds me. There are two other names I think would have been perferred, but HF wouldn't want to hear them.

How come hockey players don't have the same passion as soccer players do?? The brazilian soccer players leave their respective pro teams to play in qualification matches for the world cup even if they are risking injury.

this was a troll topic, and a successful one too. you guys got suckered .

I'd pass on Ruff if I were the Canadians.

He's more of a long-term coach, and he'd probably manage to somehow create a goalie controversy, calling Broduer, Luongo, Turco, Fernandez, Theodore... Oh and Biron. ;)
