U18: Team Canada

Question to all regarding Ethan gauthier , I’m assuming he would have played for Canada if he wasn’t in the playoffs in Quebec (even though he was born in USA he basically grew up in Quebec )

What other notable players were we missing ? Other then Fantilli and bedard

We were not missing Fantilli. Adam Fantilli is a '04 born player therefore he aged out of this tournament last year.

This is not a tournament for draft eligible players.

Bedard + half a team basically.

People get too worked up about this tournament. Canada and USAH have a gentleman's agreement. We give them the U18 IIHF tournament and in return Hockey Canada gets the Hlinka tournament.

Any medal at this tournament is a success, so the team did a good job. He’s not bedard but Celebrini looks like some player going forward

How many from this U18 team will have a chance on the U20 team in Dec-Jan?

Probably not many, if any, as there are guys who are older and Canada can also pick from guys currently in the playoffs.

Sweet win today to take the bronze. And on Jan 5 2025 at the U20s a handful of these players along with the rest of our '05s will turn this bronze into a Gold Medal.
