Celebrini already said weeks ago that he'd like to play at this tournament, and I'd like to get a look at him with Konecny as his RW.
Suzuki should be there. If the Habs lose in R1 he needs to show up to this tournament one time.I don't think you'll see Suzuki or Crosby at the World Championships.
Me neither really. But Suzuki should say yes if he wants to compete for a spot in the Olympics. (First MTL have to lose in playoff though)
The tournament is late enough now that you don't have to parachute players in after they lose in R1. Last years team had Tavares, Dubois, Hagel and Paul that all played in round 1.Team Canada doesn't parachute players in from losing playoff teams too often anymore, which I tend to agree with.
Reward the guys who volunteered to go early and build up the team chemistry.
Now, Mangiapane was parachuted in back in 2021 and ended up as MVP and Gold Medallist, so what do I know?![]()

LAF, Cuylle and Schneider.Rangers have a few guys that would be nice to see on this team.
Looks like they’ll be free for the first time in a long time

I'd probably take Horvat, but for now I'm curious to see how high the quality of accepts are. As for Celebrini, I'm optimistic about his chances for 2026. A good tournament would go a long way, even if he's not the best player on the team. Could be like 2009 Doughty.I still prefer Konecny's cousin Horvat to show up to play... something like LW (TBD) Horvat Konecny. but a PP of Celebrini Horvat Konecny is music to my ears.
it's asking a lot...but tourney MVP for Celebrini and he's punched his ticket to Italy next year.
It seems to me that Wigar has a good chance of getting into the Olympic squad, and a trip to the World championship can strengthen these chances. This team could actually be massive! Some young and good guns in Bedard, Celebrini, Fantilli, Guenther, with some bubbles in Konecny, Sanheim, Suzuki, Horvat, Weegar etc. Throw in a Crosby in the mix and you have one heck of a team.
I like his chances to be on the team in Italy. An extra spot, Konecny/Cirelli/Marchand he could replace any of themI'd probably take Horvat, but for now I'm curious to see how high the quality of accepts are. In my view, Canada is shallow on the left side. I can easily see Celebrini making the team as a LW, in a depth spot like Marchand had. Already very good offensively, solid defensive play, elite in transition. I hope that Thomas replaces Cirelli. This tournament could be a strong step in that direction for Celebrini at least.I like his chances to be on the team in Italy. An extra spot, Konecny/Cirelli/Marchand he could replace any of them

Not Kyle Dubaslosing magnat
Lets just be thankful it's not the dude who managed to lose to Lativa at the world jrs.4th place with him as assistant, better give him a promotion.
Sure. In a year that might be loaded he probably wouldn't be one of the initial invitees, but that's a solid add for this level. On plenty of Canada's recent rosters there have been several worse players with less room for growth.Tyson Foerster 6 goals in his last 2.5 games.
20 goals as a rookie and now 24 as a sophomore. Should he be on our radar?
RFA with no extension, highly unlikely that he comes but he would be a solid add.Tyson Foerster 6 goals in his last 2.5 games.
