Team Canada has an aging core that is centered around the 03-06 draft with a lot of players that are 30 and over such as Weber, Perry, Getzlaf, Bergeron, Bouwmeester, Thornton, Burns and many other players are in their late 20s.

Although we should have no concern over guys like Stamkos, Tavares, Crosby, Pietrangelo, etc. in terms of their age, many of the guys mentioned previously were integral pieces to many of Canada's golden age since 2010. They can still compete for gold but do you think that Canada will be AS dominant as they have been since 2014 with these guys soon on their way out or, at the least, in a declining stage by 2020?

McDavid, Marner, Drouin, Stamkos, Tavares, Benn, Seguin, Marchand, etc. They are fine.

Not to mention a vet Crosby.

Based on the criteria of the last World Cup... both McDavid and Marner would be ineligible for Team Canada, they would only be eligible for Team North America.

Such a stupid, stupid idea...

Knowing Team Canada’s love of two-way guys, especially when it comes to depth roles…

Benn-Crosby-Seguin
Tavares-Scheifele-Stamkos
Marchand-Bergeron-Johansson
Hall-ROR-Stone

Scheifele and Hall get the nods considering they’ve gone whenever TC has called on them for the WHC. Duchene, MacKinnen, RNH, Getzlaf, Turris, Monahan, Drouin are the rest knocking at the door. Needless to say forward depth isn’t the issue, even without the young guys. It’s the same on defence.

Vlasic-Doughty
Brodie-Pietranglo
Keith-Burns

Giordano, Subban, Letang round out guys who are at that calibre currently.

Price
Holtby
Talbot/Crowford/Dubnyk/Jones

The NHL has already said that Team North America was a one time thing.

And no, Brayden Point wouldn't be on the 2020 Team Canada roster. Mitch Marner is better and he wouldn't be either.

Tavares - McDavid - Marner
Marchand - Crosby - Stamkos
Benn - Bergeron - Seguin
O'Rielly - Scheifele - Burns

Letang - Doughty
Vlasic - Subban
Keith - Pietrangelo

Burns @ FW lol

you can find a forward for that line

put in Point for ROR

Lots of love for Duncan Keith, but were talking about the 2020 World Cup. Keith will be 37 years old by then.

I could see a young forward pushing out Bergeron. Someone like Marner would be playing for team North America though, right?

The NHL said Team Europe and Team N/A were only a one time thing because they didn't have time to do qualifiers.

Whether the popularity of Team N/A changed that or not, I'm not sure
