Dean Letourneau should be the Rangers pick. He should build chemistry with Perreault at BC

I’ll put in my top picks when I get home, but at a glance, Pascarak is up there for me. Tyler Toffoli type scorer

I picked Letourneau because it would be nice to watch him and Gabe during all the BC games. But i fully expect a defenseman picked here.

Surprised Letourneau has such a massive lead, are people just voting because he’s big & going to be playing with Perreault? Very few rankings have him top 30, and he was playing Canadian high school hockey, not exactly a high level. Held pointless in his brief USHL stint.

I’d go with Nikita Artamonov. Already played a full KHL season, and hes ranked top 10 on one of the rankings on EP

My runner up would be Andrew Basha (several have him in the teens)

If they were going to take a BC player I wouldn’t t even take Letoureanu. I’d rather take Stiga than Letourneau.

I don't necessarily mind the Letorneau pick, but he's a guy you're going to have to be very patient and focused developmentally with for the pick to pan out to its fullest

I don't think they pick at 30, but they need to find a LHD prospect in this or next year's draft that could handle top 4 minutes down the line

Finding a RHD would be ideal too, but Fox and Schneider make it less of a need.

I'd prefer they try and turn this into two 2nds *cough* Utah *cough*, one this year and one next.

Truthfully I havent paid anywhere near as much attention to the draft this year since we are picking so far back, but i’d be very happy with either of those.

Another under 6' winger. No thanks.

Another under 6' something Rangers don't need
He's listed as 6', at the combine he measured 5'11.25" 187lb. Decent weight for that height.

You know I value grit far more than most people on this board and am probably Rempe's biggest fan here, but in the 1st round I'm prioritizing elite talent above all else. Watching those highlights don't you think Basha skates right into traffic without fear? He is far from some purely finesse soft perimeter player

Letourneau seems like a project, one you throw a parade over if everything goes correctly, but if it doesn't, you've waited years to cancel the parade. I'd toss Artamonov with Kreider and Zibanejad right now, just to show them "Hey, this is how you work for the puck.". Unfortunately, the current contract agreement might be an issue.

I'm really puzzled by the Letourneau love here. Pretty sure people just saw committed to Boston College & his size.

He's a guy playing Canadian high school hockey. High School hockey is not a big thing in Canada. This is not high level hockey. He is ranked 87 by Recruit, 55 by Dobber, 69 by TSN, 51 by THN, meh. IF he somehow pans out he is a project who will take many years after our window anyway. If he weren't big it would be even lower, his linemate who only got 6 fewer points is only ranked by 2 agencies, 211 by Recruit & 156 by DraftProspects. And they are the only 2 players in the entire league ranked on a single draft list.

Meanwhile several guys ranked in the teens on some lists are still available here.

The only players in KHL history with more points in a season as a draft eligible than Nikita Artamonov:

- Matvei Michkov
- Vladimir Tarsenko
- Artemi Panarin
