With Beaudoin, Boisvert, and Luchanko all off the board here I think I'll go with Vanacker.

I went with Ritchie. Still some good RDs to consider though.

I was split between Parascak and Vanacker. Tbh didn't know who Vanacker was, but saw people were voting for him and so I did some research. Liked what I saw and really he just seems like a better skater than Parascak to me. I do like the idea of a high offensive potential RW though..tempted

Watch Basha’s highlights too and it will make it even harder on you lol

He does indeed make it tougher...I do like the fact that Vanacker led his team in scoring by a wide margin but it sounds like Basha plays a better game in tight areas which is obviously important when the pace picks up at the next levels.

Seems like Vanacker is a guy who is projected in the mid to late 2nd round though as well while Basha is an early 20s guy. I don't love reaching but when you don't have a 2nd round pick it's tough.

Hmmm

I don’t think you can go wrong with either player.

Ooo watching some Ryder Ritchie highlights and I like the way he moves out there. The type of agility with the puck that we could use some more of. Also a NHL level shot already

I'll keep my vote probably on Vanacker but Ritchie will definitely be gone before him in the draft I'd guess.

Don’t know much about him. Is he not basically a right handed Bischel without the mean streak?
Tracking data is real good. Production at junior level is pretty respectable too. 13 points in 17 games was leading the J20 among defenseman prior to his pro call-up. His D-1 year in Finland's junior league was pretty good too.

I haven't watched him either, but he reads more like a 2-way who simplified his game in order to receive a top 6 job in the SHL.

I don't think Vanacker's labrum injury has been mentioned yet? Played through it since November and currently recovering from surgery. Vanacker himself said he didn't think it effected him much but who knows? 36 goals with a torn labrum is pretty impressive. But on the other hand, he's also going to miss the next 4-6 months and going to be behind the development curve because of it.

He was pretty underwhelming at the u18s and that's sadly the only tape I was able to see of his. Though he seems to be a guy who showed massive improvement in the OHL. Solid upward trajectory up until that point, love to see it.
