I truthfully want nothing to do with Stenberg.
Pls, for the love of God, someone help me with stenberg, he's the most bland, small, non eye popping prospect of the early lot.
I wouldn't touch Sale with a 50 ft. Pole. The lack of interest in backchecking and his invisibility when the puck goes the other way, scream entitled one-dimensional scorer to me. Don't need another one of those.
So I am out on Stenberg and Sale for these kind of reasons. But also these were names that were pretty hot a yeah ago and May still be more recognizable but their ranking falling if justified by that play. I’m not taking either over Honzek; would rather bet on his physical tools and like how he’s raised his stock.

Honzek has so much upside imo. Watching him play, he's got finesse for his size. Plays all situations good. Loads of PKing.

I think you run to the podium and grab Sale here before the other teams realize their mistake and then you revel in the fact that we just drafted the next Pastrnak.

He won’t be there in the real draft though.

He won't that is correct. And to stay level, he's got amazing offensive tools. One of the best shots of the draft. But that defensive commitment is needed in the NHL

I’ve seen enough about defensive commitment. Defensive commitment can get f***ed on draft day.

Give me the talent and build a system/demand accountability going the other way.

Should go with the Jovo philosophy BRA (Best Russian Available). Rykov of the great Traktor Chelyabinsk, or Kantserov. Muhkanov is great as well. Da Anal Butt is a bit of an oaf, the Russian factor doesn’t tip the scales for me.

Of these players I would take Gracyn Sawchyn. When I saw him in person he was more impressive than when I’ve seen Bedard. Obviously he isn’t better but in that sample size he was, by far. He has some of the best puck skills in the draft and is a hard nosed player despite his name. His name is actually a nod to early satirist playwrites with a veneer of British post-industrial absurdism, the Kravtsov influence is abundantly clear.

I am withholding my vote for a bit as I watch results play out to strategically get the better player for us, but I hope more people vote Gracyn Sawchyn.

Yeah I’m taking Honzek’s upside, physical tool and showing in the WHL (the W was insane this year) over Sale pretty easily but people are going to assume Sale is a steal because he was rated too high months ago.

3 or 4 really decent forwards there. Going with Sale. Wasn't this kid in most peoples top 12?

Would be ok with either.

Funnily enough, I really don’t see massive upside with Honzek. Sure, he’s big, but I don’t really see the hands, skating, or hockey IQ to nail down a Top 6 slot.

Voted Sale, don’t expect him to be around when we pick though

My top 5 at present is
Sale
Musty
Sawchyn
But
Honzek

I think Honzek doesn’t need to be in the Top six to play though. Sale does. And again I like Honzek’s sample size in the WHL better than what Sale did

the fact that Gulyayev was taken right before us makes this very believable.

I went with Stenberg because it sounds like a Drury player

and by the Flyers at Pick #22.

In 2006, the Rangers took Bobby Sanguinetti at #21 OA.

The Flyers had Pick #22. they really wanted Sanguinetti. Rangers took him, and they had to settle for some guy named Claude.

Fun fact I just found, Sanguinetti was the assistant coach this season for Charlotte in the AHL.

Knowing the Rangers history.
They will not take consensus BPA
More likely a D man that might be a slight reach.
They have a few players targeted.
I feel a trade for a more estblished RFA that a team cannot afford

Drury announces Hrabal would be the funniest reaction. Musty would be funny because his weakness is of course his skating.

Give me a small trade back, and then take the chance on Brindley.

I know jack about this draft class. My life has been too chaotic to follow these players like I did when I was younger.

Just draft a player that doesn't suck that 31 other teams would stay away from at all costs. No Jessiman or Sanguinetti or Andersson or McIlrath or some bullshit off the board nonsense. Don't be cute. Draft a player that has translatable skills, brains, and work ethic. Period.

If the league thinks this draft is as good as the board does we can probably get a really good player for the first I reckon

I'm quite critical, as we live in times where everything gets hyped beyond any sensible measure, but yeah its been said a lot, this draft is deep with big time talent.

Perfect circumstances for us to f*** it up and pick Softy McGee at 23.
