Lightning fan's thoughts:

1. I am not worried about the draft picks at all, just happy to have kept Geekie/Howard/Gaulthier/Duke
2. Thank you for your service Michael Eyssimont
3. Would not be surprised to see Gourde get an extension before season is out, he never wanted to leave TB and will probably be thrilled to be back
4. Wonder what the retention is for Seattle
5. Depending on retention, that 2028 first might be in play pretty soon lol

Let’s give a little love for them

But seriously I can’t see how a Stanley Cup finalist comes from metro this season

Tampa and Florida are proven top tier teams
Its gunna be another year of the state of Florida making the eastern conference look way better than it really is

total homerun for Tampa here.

I will give JBB credit: he doesn't let one bad result (Jeannot) mess with his general strategy of viewing picks as essentially junk in their current situation. And relative to somebody like Bjorkstrand, who could be a contributor for longer than his current contract, potentially, I kind of agree with his take.

Brisebois really hates his draft picks. Amazing.
I see no reason why we shouldn't be targeting 28-33 year Olds. Older if they're still productive. The reality is our window is basically as long as Hedman holds up. And the next generation Lightning core has a very, very small chance of being as good as this one, no matter how many picks we have. So we have to juice this core for everything it's worth

Atlantic looks even more brutal now than it did before. Also, there's a decent chance that the Bolts and Panthers face each other in the first round. The loser of that series would walk away from it extremely disappointed at a first round exit.

I don't follow Seattle at all but I'd probably like this kind of return if I were a Kraken fan. Seems like a good trade for both sides in that regard.

Seattle fans can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.
Good return. Yes. A lot of us were hoping to get someone ready to plug in to the roster within the next couple of years. This does not align with the competitiveness talk from ownership/management. However, that does not mean the value is not there.

I am fine with giving up the first round picks, the second sure, hate losing Ace but so be it. If there is retention on both, then that still leaves a bit more for another pick up possibly?
