Awesome!! Nick Paul will thrive playing for Lightning. He's hungry to win "The Stanley Cup" and with Lightning's core, this is a possibly.
Go Lightning!!
Go Lightning!!
He actually was a key guy for us, albeit with a small sample size. He started out playing 12 minutes per night with us, and come playoff time was fairly regularly topping 20. Averaged 18.Never a big fan of giving that long of term to depth guys. He obviously fit in well, but 7 years is long time to lock into someone who isn't a key guy. I think depth guys can also get a little too comfortable now that they don't have to worry about playing for a deal.
Read that again slowly. How is it possible that someone posting on a hockey message board can't ad the numbers 18 and 14 together?
This is like when Toronto gave Matt Martin 2m per. In no way was that a good deal and 3m for 7 years is worse.
34 career goals for a 4th liner for majority of this deal.
I feel like this is pretty much zero risk for Tampa. Paul either continues his level of play and is a bargain at $3M or the wheels fall off and his cap is low enough that it's not gonna be a big albatross. Nice work.
Do you know what a safe bet is?7% is extremely low for a middle 6 forward. It's a pretty safe bet that he never falls under 10% again. Especially now that he has competent linemates
Seeing ice skates add 3 inches... you are correct he's 6'6" on the ice.I was surprised to see hes 6'3.. dude looks at least 6'6 when hes on the ice.
No, but if I'm Salty, it will salt for the Leafs, not the teams that beat us.Salty about game 7?
Maybe one day in the far distant future the Leafs can win a round.
Shooting percentage for 227 career games: 7%
Shooting percentage for last 21 games: 14%
Paul does do other things and can impact a game without scoring goals. But part of this contract is based on his scoring more than usual. I don't have a lot of faith that his offense will continue.
Not a killer of a contract but I doubt it looks like a bargain in 2 or 3 years... nevermind beyond that.
Screwed like every year, right? How on earth are bolts going to be able to get under the cap with these type of contracts? Both Point and Kucherov into LTIR for the full season? They still have Palat to sign, too. They are going to be soooo screwed.
Think Tampa management can figure it out seeing as how BriseBois has been in charge of the cap since 2010. Team has done okay during that span of time. How on earth are bolts going to be able to get under the cap with these type of contracts? Both Point and Kucherov into LTIR for the full season? They still have Palat to sign, too. They are going to be soooo screwed.
