If he makes the team on a line with Bellemare and Joseph, that would be the only line with 3 black players in the NHL. Also the only time I can remember it happening in history aside from the Atlanta Thrashers.

And this would be on what is considered by many to be the best team in the league, I'm a fan

If he got waived by the Red Wings, it seems unlikely he'll make the top-9 of the "best team in the league".

Gemel Smith is a player that the Lightning like as an AHL level call up guy. The Wings don't need him for that role when they've got like 6 other guys to do that.

The question was, “Is he a full time NHLer?” and I responded that even Detroit waived him.

Not sure why it’s hard to see what the point was.
