I assume this is a mutual termination since I havent seen any drama about the player? Or did I miss something?

If mutual then okay. It does seem like their has been a higher number of mutual terminations the last couple of years. Not talking about just the shady behind the veil albatross contract terminations either. Young players still under team control seem to be getting them.

Third and final year of ELC, traded for in the offseason for a similarly situated prospect, both of whom played mostly in the ECHL last year. Began the year on the Syracuse 3rd line, has been out of the lineup the last three games. Actually an American born kid [his sister played on a USA U18 Women's Team a couple years ago] that played in the WHL, but I think he likely has a Czech passport, through his Father (and maybe Mother) who is a former NHL player and current Assistant with Vancouver Canucks, Jaroslav Svejkovsky. Probably just a writing on the wall situation and giving him an opportunity to sign a deal overseas rather than go back to the ECHL. Third year ELC players in the ECHL just don't make much sense for either side.

Pretty sure you nailed it. Either he's going closer to home or to Europe.

Interestingly he grew up in Point Roberts, WA; which is a pene-exclave only reachable on land via Canada.

Ah, the mess that drawing borders across a longitude line makes. It's literally the tip of a peninsula (just the tip) only connected to Canada, but dips below the 49th. Who doesn't want to cross a border just to be able to go to school?
