I don't think there has ever been one. I remember looking it up a while ago and my sole purpose for doing it was to see if they had the nerve to give McDavid that Hart if he scored 100+ points and they still missed the playoffs.Of course ignoring it would have taken Edmonton EIGHTEEN more points just to make the playoffs.
Obviously you're not going to get Hart consideration from a non-playoff team if you're not completely head and shoulders above other guys statistically. That's why it's called 'most valuable'...I have no idea who the last Hart winner from a non-playoff team was.
A non-playoff team goalie (Bobrovsky in 2013) has actually won the Vezina, but I don't believe a non-playoff team player has ever won the Hart the year he missed the playoffs. Unless I skipped over.
Anson Carter just said on the intermission that he would give it to Anze Kopitar, then Keith Jones said he'd give it to Taylor Hall.
