Anyone thinking a 1st rounder doesn't know how lousy he's been With Chicago. He's giving up almost as bad as he did when he was in Buffalo.

A 2nd rounder would be the absolute max, and I expect the price would actually be lower. There's nothing left from his heroic year in NJ. He's just totally washed up now.

Hawks fan here. I've seen just about every game this year, i know...., and for the most part, I can't see why any contending team would want him for more than a throwaway late round pick. But I'm curious to see how he starts playing under the new coach who has a much more offensively minded aggressive system than the last one that suits his game better. Plus with every day, he's one more day removed from knee surgery.

So especially if Nazar comes up, he just might go on a heater and if he does, he might actually net a first in 25. I'd rather get a first in 26 but I think GM's want to hold onto their picks for that draft. It's unlikely but possible.

Even at 50% that’s 3m cap hit and he’s no longer producing.

I can’t see even a 2nd. 3rd rounder + B prospect. Maybe a 2nd if they eat an expiring cap dump to balance the cap hit.

Jeff Skinner + 2nd for Hall at 50%

Trade becomes a cap neutral deal. Hawks cap situation remains the same and they get a 2nd. That seems about best case scenario.

Granted Skinner likely isn’t waiving his NMC for a non playoff team so this is wishful thinking for those few Oilers fans that would be happy to see Hall back. I’ll count myself in that boat provided it’s Skinners spot he gets. Otherwise, zero interest.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Leafs seriously target him. They are not paying a 1st or a top prospect or anything nuts like that, but we have a 2nd that would be available and also I am sure the Hawks would have some interest in a prospect or two depending on quality. A guy like Alex Steeves for example who is blocked might be a good add for them.

Hall at one time played a direct game, maybe Berube could get him back to it. Leafs also desperately need scoring help. 21st in the league in goals. Nice to be a top 5 defensive team but it is clear the middle of the forward roster is hurting.

As an NJD fan, I'll admit most of it is nostalgia from his 17-18 year and bringing him back to a team with those guys he left as young kids into some of the best guys at their position with his return, but I think he'll relish coming back to a spot where he had his best NHL success and the Devils need of a winger next to Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt. Plus, the Devils might have to get super creative with their lack of cap space.
