Anyone else thinks Shanahan does not like the Oilers. We have witnessed quite a few dirty and Questionable hits against the Oilers and all were dismissed withouht suspensions, with some of those injuring our players. but now it seems any Oiler is up for review its a suspension.

This was also the third charlie horse Clutterbuck has had in the last year. I thought i read a it is easier to get one once you've had one or more as the tissue is damaged.

So essentially Hall got suspended because Clutterbuck is injury prone.

Hall got suspended because he hit a guy late and low. If Hall, or any of our younger stars, ever got hit like that how would you feel?

I'm fine with the hit because it reminds me of the passion Messier played with.

I'm also fine with the suspension because when I try to look at it objectively I see a pretty marginal hit.

But Im glad Clutterbuck got rocked.

Red wings fan here living in Minnesota. Watched the game and the hit. Hall should not have been suspended. He turned and was going for a hip heck. Nothing malicious or intent to hurt or injure with that hit. Wish Edmonton luck over the next 2 games and Minnesota the opposite.

If Clutterbuck doesnt spend 10 minutes squirming around on the ice and doesnt re-aggravate an old injury does Hall even get suspended?

IMO the hit wasnt late and there have been tons of hits that low that dont end up in suspensions lately.

What gets me is they like to take injury into effect, what happens when guys like Hossa who are apparently KTFO only miss one game. Say Hansen was suspended for 10 games would they actually look at making it less because the player really wasn't hurt?

And I don't know why and I feel like a complete an utter moron, but I watched McCown's show Friday. The whole he intended to hurt Clutterbuck really gets me. How do they know that Hall intended to cripple up Clutterbuck? Something tells me if the intent was there that Clutterbuck would be going for surgery in the near future.

Poor Frideman too. Convo turns into an anti-fighting issue and he is out numbered 3-1.

I know it will never happen, but I'd sure like suspensions to be done a lot sooner. The whole waiting until noon the next day (or somethimes longer) seems to cloud things even more.

Seems that all that time gives Shanny a chance to be influenced. Be ideal to phone the guilty party after the game while everything is fresh. Watch the hit and have the suspension the same day.

No way they would change it because they want us to believe that suspensions aren't tied to injuries althoguh his stupid videos have said:

"play results in an injury"

You're right it really is a silly process and he should come out and make a decision quicker than he does.

Like going back last year when Hartnell was all hot and bothered after Potter rocked him and he was running around like an idiot and took a run at MPS with a knee.

His play was 10 times more wreckless and far more easy to call out as you know and could see in his play that he was pissed off that he was run by Potter, hell his post-game comments even confirmed that. Hall you have to assume is pissed off because his team is losing which is a bit of a stretch but possibly true. Either way I have no idea why one play is suspendable and the other isn't.

I assume there's a lot of I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine kind of deals between the league and certain GMs/Owners. Or hell it could just all be league devised as well, they don't care if they piss off the Canadian fans because they know they will keep watching all the time.

I doubt that's a message that most teams get. Seriously what's to fear a pissed off Taylor in the final minutes of the game?

Other teams will know Taylor can't risk cheap shotting someone as that suspension will get longer and longer.

So unless he can start doing it cleanly and with more regularity there will be absolutely no message sent to any team.

In this day and age with Shanaban its a message you don't want sent. The trouble is a 2 game suspension for Hall greases the pole for a 5 game, then a 10 or 20 game suspension down the road. If anything is established the players that Shanaban does identify as trouble end up with subsequent suspensions while those he thinks "are fine young lads" end up with nothing again and again.

Anybody questioning whether Shanaban plays his little favorites or not should look at the case of Rinaldo last year. Gets 2 games for a vicious hit in which he obviously jumped in the air. This only 5 days after Rinaldo engaging in two infractions in a previous game for which he served no suspension.

This being Zac Rinaldo. A puke that you could count his infractions in virtually any game played.

Taylor Hall recieves the same suspension as Zac Rinaldo.

Is there a dirtier player in the league than Zac Rinaldo?

On the topic of Taylor Hall, is there a reason why there was a poll between him and Tavares in the main polls board, and JT was winning by like 95%???

I don't get it. Even though he's played fewer games due to injury, Hall has SLAYED JT's PPG, Corsi, and chances for v. against since coming into the league. Well, that is, if you compare JT's first year vs. Hall's. Second vs. second, etc.

I don't "get" why it's such a given that JT's better, when Hall has performed better and on a weaker team in each of those seasons too. Boggles my mind, and it's not just Oiler haters. It's Oilers fans too. WTF??
