That was my point, that the actual implication there is that the organization failed him. However, any time someone gets pegged for individual success rather than team success, the implication tends to be that they are to blame. Otherwise the distinction wouldn't be needed when discussing them, no?

That is the perception, but most Isles fans already know how much Tavares gave during his tenure there, and if they are honest, it's clear the organization failed him...that fact that he was able to achieve any individual success is a testament to his hard work and talent. I think there's really no other way for Lou to give praise and thank Tavares for his contribution, unless he left it out completely.

Its clearly evident that none of the other teams were relevant it was either nyi or us.

I must admit, I wussed out in saying it cause I'm used to be disappointed as a Leafs fan (which seems to be finally ending,) but I never really believed the SJ narrative.
