No thanks from Ottawa. We'd look horrible without Stone. Give one of the centers to replace Tavares on the Islanders lineup.

Only player on the Sens that even warrants a conversation around Tavares is Karlsson. No package of other current roster players, picks or prospects is even worth discussing for a player like Tavares.

IMO we have the assets to get Tavares if he is on the table.

He likely wont be traded at least until next year or something and we have top prospects in Brown/White/Chlapik/Chabot and we can add proven talent in Turris/Hoffman/Ceci and maybe even Stone + picks.

Karlsson for Barzal + MDC + Strome

totally fair, right?

Karlsson's value >> Tavares' value

LMFAO yo Harrison I thought of all things reading comprehension is your strong suit.

White+Brown+Stone/Hoffman/Turris+1st = barzal+mdc+Strome?

My trade proposal is only if Tavares' is gonna get traded, not because Ottawa is trying to snatch him away from NYI.

The only way Ottawa gives him a contract he wants is if there's a Black Friday sale.

 is it though? Pretty sure nobody in the league ha THAT much more value than tavares

Im talking about value as of now. Karlsson is better, better contract, plays more important position. Outside of McDavid, Karlsson probably returns the biggest return in the league if he was to be traded. Oops I realize i did two >> 's

ahhh makes sense then. I agree EK is the most valuable player in the league besides McDavid

Sure, there isn't an interesting package to make among Turris, Brassard, Stone, Hoffman, Dzingel, Ceci, Chabot, Brown, White, 1st...

Karlsson for Barzal + MDC + Strome

How is it remotely comparable? Stone, Turris and Hoffman are proven

Stone arguably deserved the Calder as much as Johnny Gaudreau and had a 66 pts pace per 82 games in his first 2 full seasons while having a very good overall game. Hoffman scored 27 and 29 goals in his first 2 full seasons while having a 56 pts pace per 82 games. Turris was badly injured last year but if you take his 2 years prior, he had a 61 pts pace per 82 games. He is only 27 years old signed to a sweetheart deal. Even Ceci is starting to be proven

For example, Karlsson for Stone + Ceci + Chabot + high 1st (Isles) would be closing on being fair IMO. Not saying the Sens would do it (if it was possible) but value is not too far off. Is Tavares worth a lot more than Karlsson?

Turris + Hoffman + Brown would be a good offer for Tavares IMO (maybe other teams would outbid though). I'd take that if I was them AND knew that we won't we re-sign him.

Sens Top-9 would be :

MacArthur-Tavares-Ryan
Smith-Pageau-Stone
Dzingel-Brassard-Lazar

or

Dzingel-Tavares-Stone
MacArthur-Brassard-Ryan
Smith-Pageau-Lazar

Thank you for telling isles fans what we should want and give up tavares for BUT unless hes 100% leaving its gonna take a lot more than that

And why exactly would NYI want to trade away their franchise C for a bunch of lesser players? That helps them get closer to a cup how? I'm not talking strictly value; I'm talking about what's realistic. There's almost zero chance NYI moves Tavares even if a franchise player was coming back in return. There's less than zero chance they'd consider moving Tavares for any sort of package involving the players you've listed. JT is the franchise right now and their goal is to win by building around him.

Unless the Islanders were desperate for some reason, can't see them making this move.

Sends a wrong message to their fans also.

The only way we would have a remote chance in getting JT is as a UFA ,and that is very unlikely

edit: Forgot to add Stone...

If that deal was offered then the Islanders and if they were being rational, they would have to give it some serious consideration. Because the team sucks and any rational person would have zero faith in Tavares resigning with the Islanders.

That is a lot of value.

I don't think that Tavares will re-sign with the Islanders.
