I know he has not proposed anything, that's exactly why I'm asking. I was trying to help him answer his own question.

Suppose there is indeed a rule precluding the Olympics to be held in Asia in 2022. What next? Either you scrap it or you don't hold the Olympics at all.

What other answer could there be?

I kind of love what is happening to the olympics now. They were such a pompous event and expected everybody to always fall over themselves catering to be awarded them. Now the World is telling the corrupt, over bloated blimp to get lost.

There is no rule. There is a principle.

Indeed. Karma is a female dog, one could say. Now let's just wait for the same to happen to FIFA World Cup...

Perhaps we could turn the world's attention to events that are nice, homely fun (mostly) - like the WHCs? Even getting all the current hockey followers on board would be a nice start.

I hadn't heard that, but I believe that the World Cup is supposed to function that way.

Correct it's an actual rule for FIFA, whose rules are subject to change at any given time.
