Hits like this shouldn’t be allowed in this league.

If there is convincing evidence that the intent of the hit is to injure the other player, it should be an automatic season suspension with no pay to deter incidents like this.

I was actually shocked at seeing the video there, I don’t even know what Jeannot was thinking. That should be a lengthy suspension for sure.

Jeannot doesn’t have the same history as Wilson but I agree on the Wilson-Sundqvist hit comparison.

15-20 games? Some of y'all are dreaming. Not saying that there shouldn't be suspensions like that for dirty plays they want out of the game, but there have been far worse hits that have gone unpenalized, let alone suspended for more than a handful of games.

The worst of this sort of hit all look pretty much the same and this hit was basically straight out of the Tom Wilson/Raffi Torres playbook and the worst hits those guys threw.

Like, maybe Cooke on Savard 15 years ago was worse, or whatever. Laperriere on Savage was probably the worst I ever saw. But there have been very few that have been worse than this in the last several years. This was late, high, about as blindside as it gets, directly to the head, and by a fringe NHLer on an All-Star.

It was a despicable, predatory hit on a defenseless player a mile away from the puck. It's the dirtiest play to happen in the NHL so far this season. Your comments about the hit seem to indicate that you've been in a coma for the past 12 years and have zero concept of the current rules.

Total garbage hit. I'm ok with 6-8 - its what my guess was. He doesn't have a reputation of filthy play. He's just a meathead that actually has enough skill to hang but there's all sorts of bad intentions and lack of respect on that hit. He coulda done a fly by. Huge brain fart. It would be nice if we had someone to hold people accountable for this type of shit. For all we know Boeser could be out for a while in a contract year and his union brother tries to rip his head off. Clear lack of respect. He could have pulled up or switched his path. I have a tough time watching that.

As an aside, Quinton Byfield is taking the next step. Kid is going to be ok. Clarke too.Blake had the right idea heading top picks but he pissed his pants a few times at the draft table.

Agreed. Im tired of watching them get bullied. Gillis and Benning chopped the nuts off the team. Allvin doesn't seem to want a new set of nuts.

The Canucks aren't soft. They may not have a nuclear deterrent enforcer but they still have a gritty team that can handle themselves.

It looked bad at first blush. It looks worse on the second angle.

I think that has to be at least a couple of games at a minimum? The intent is clear as day and the resutl is bad.

Really don't like this one , nasty hit , and I usually don't get all mad at the borderline ones but this one looks pretty egregious
