How’d that turn out for Florida?

To be fair, blaming Tkachuk for Florida is a reach. The guy has 81 points in 62 games. The problem there is the goaltending has been blah and the depth around him hasn't produced, specifically on the defensive side. Ekblad took a massive step down this year having to cover for them losing Weeger.

That's been one of those weird trades in which both sides looked smart at the time but the outcome hasn't been great either way.

Florida made smart move here. This years team really misses weegar, but I’d much rather be team that paid the 25 year old superstar than the team that committed $140mm to 2 30 year olds.

If you're judging the trade solely on this season, maybe not that well, but I still think Florida got the best of that deal long term. They're probably happy to have the guy with 81 points in 62 games going forward. It's not like Calgary is tearing it up with Huberdeau and Weegar, and Hubie's contract might be the worst in the league in the not-so-distant future.

Tkachuk will likely always be a more impactful player than Kyrou, though I realize the challenges of making that trade were probably too big for Armstrong to overcome. I just found it interesting that some Blues fans would rather have Kyrou than Tkachuk, because it's not even close in my mind.

I'd rather have Tkachuk than Kyrou but it would be better if we could have them both! Although we couldn't beat that package Florida gave.

4th Yotes goal where Kyrou did nothing but watch. Smh

Remember when people said they wouldn't trade him in a package for Matthew Tkachuk. Good times!

He was joking. Kyrou was on the bench for all 6 goals, so all he could do was watch, He was making fun of people, such as yourself, who complain about Kryou even when he does nothing wrong. You walked right into that trap.

Long-term I think Tkachuk will play at a high level and will be worth his contract. I also think the assets Florida gave up hurt the team now and in the future(which has more to do with Bobrovsky’s contract).

I’d rather have Tkachuk than Kyrou, but not at the price Florida gave up to acquire him. That would cause the Blues to fill even more holes in my mind.

If it’s a deliberate early jinx thread, can doing THAT function as a reverse jinx and lead to wins?

We all just need to gaslight Linken's into thinking its the wrong day of the week. If we have a game on Monday, on Saturday start talking about how great your weekend was and how you wish it wasn't over. Complain about the lack of a GDT at noon the day before a game. Stuff like that.

Linken's will miss some work sure. Maybe he gets fired, and it ruins his life. Yeah, maybe. But we wouldn't reverse jinx ourselves into wins, so it is worth it (SARCASM).

81pts, +17

MT is not florida's problem. jordan kyrou being a bum defensively is one of ours however.
Didn’t say he was Florida’s problem. The assets Florida gave up within a salary capped league and not being able to properly replace them for depth and performance purposes is, however.

Spenser Knight hasn't been nearly as good as I thought he should be. Pegged him for an elite goaltender. I was bummed that we didn't land him in the draft but now......
