He's very versatile at a high level. He's perfectly capable of being a quality 2-way centre in The NHL. I'm so glad Army didn't ship him off in the fire sale. He'll be a key to The Blues' turnaround.

Nice win for the young, undermanned Blues. I'd like to have seen a loss for more ping-pong balls. But it would be bad for the young players to play in an atmosphere of losing every game for the last third of a season. Too bad Army screwed up the defence with wrong guessing on contracts, bad policies and bad luck.

craig janney and a pick. worst part was week later we traded hedican and logan's dad in package to get janney back because shanny missed him.

The Blues won but their defending is so bad. They are always rimming it around the boards, making terrible passes to try and spring the guy behind them, and subsequently turning over the puck leading to a goal. I don't even care if the Blues lose 4-1 every night, I just want some different defending schemes. This has been the same story for like 4 years now and they are getting eaten alive by every team.

The first period might have been the worst case because you see them backing into the zone letting in the Sharks and then get completely beaten on every puck. And when they aren't getting beaten on the boards, the Sharks are able to move the puck easily and get guys open for shots on net. Meanwhile the Blues are playing to the outside and going from the faceoff circle to blue line, to blue line to faceoff circle, along the boards to the other circle, back to the blue line and finally getting picked off. It's so tiring and boring.

That Thomas goal might've been the first I've seen in a while where it was a good passing play that lead to Buch behind the net for a great opportunity. I don't think Berube is the problem here, but I'm starting to get more ok with the idea of letting the coaching staff go if I don't see any sort of improvement next year.

Well, Buch to center was better than I expected in game 1. Still just the Sharks, but if he can consistently win just 40-45% of his faceoffs, then he's going to do well IMO.

Giving Parayko and Leddy a more balanced deployment is also paying off.

If we lost these 2 games lately against Sharks we would've been 6th seed now, 1pt behind 5th. We were down in both games, 0-2 in first and 0-1 in second and still felt the urge to win and damage the team´s future.

Buchy drafted as a center seems to be working out as a center for us. With him getting used to that position again, we'll see him be pretty strong in the O zone for us down the road.

My Bally Sports App stopped working so I didn't get to watch this one. Pirating a Blues/Sharks game in March just wasn't worth it to watch night 1 of the Buch experiment at center. It sounds like it went well though. Hopefully it looks as good against Columbus on Saturday (with some awful goaltending play giving us a loss) and we'll still have him at center against Vegas on Sunday. I know it would be a lot to ask, but I'd love to see him matched up against Eichel.
