I think we are getting to the point where there’s zero chance we are re-signing Tarasenko and ROR. I don’t want either back even at a discount.
I would like 91 back but Army has burned that bridge I would think.

ROR can go, his play since the COVID lockout has been a joke. He is not worth more than 3-4million a year, let someone else overpay for him like they did with Backes.

The worst part of this team is the unlikability factor. Even the teams of the late 2000s and early 2010s who sucked were likeable. Because they had people like Backes who would drag people into fights. Then you had upcoming skill with Perron, Oshie, Bergie, Steen etc. I didn't mind watching bad hockey sometimes because the team was likeable.

This team lacks all of that and then some. IMO it is the most unlikeable team in franchise history. Everything they do is so mediocre to bad. They don't even engage physically to get the team into a game. Their vets play like its time to retire and they have no legit upcoming youngsters that are fun to watch. Outside of Acciari, nobody plays their role very well.

This team lost its soul when they let Chuckie and Perrron go. It is nice to see both of them playing very well for their new teams, shame on Armstrong.

We're not bad enough to be terrible. But we are not good enough to be a playoff team.

Like a lot of things with our play on the ice, we have no direction right now.

Fire Mactavish and Chiarelli and then start any re-build, re-tool, re-whatever, because I don't want to go through it with either of them in the organization no matter how small their role is.

We had peak ROR and Tarasenko, 2 elite players when we were cup contenders and champions. Those days are long gone. I’m afraid we are going to bask in mediocrity for several years at least.

We are tied for 10th worst by point capture percentage. Take away 5 points from us and our point capture would be 5th worst. If we stay .500 and then trade away our UFAs we can be bad enough to drop to that level. If we finish bottom 5, we are guaranteed a top 8 pick. In this draft a top 8 is like a top 4 or 5 in an average draft. We probably won't catch Chicago, Anaheim and Columbus. But we have a good chance at a top 10 pick with an outisde chance at a lucky lottery win. Plus whatever futures we'd get from trades. It really is the only way to go if we are still sitting around .500 near the trade deadline.

It seems some people are finally starting to come around to the less than minor retool way of thought. That's good to see. I can only imagine the people on the deck of the titanic thinking "this ship can't sink."

It's obvious this team lacks chemistry. I have my suspicions why this is, but NHL locker rooms are tight lipped, so we may never know what the issues are. Anyhow, the best thing to do is sell off and do a mini-rebuild around Kyrou and Thomas. Hopefully, the front office figures it out. DA has lost a lot of credibility in this last year. For me it was ditching a guy who wanted to be here and had a phenomenal 21-22 season. Losing DP57 was more than just what you see on ice. It tore a hole in the team's identity. It also showed the team that no matter how hard they worked and performed, DA is a ruthless GM who puts people 2nd.

the problem with Armstrong waiting to sell is the risk of injuries. hopefully 91 is not hurt long term.

this team is going nowhere, it lacks more than wins/losses, it does not have the "it" factor and the team is extremely unlikeable. There is no purpose to holding on to people and risking them getting hurt and losing them for nothing. Sell now and see how the callups handle a NHL workload.
