Oh I know. In other threads I've been saying the same thing you are. The mushy middle of the NHL is a 4 game win streak from being 25th to 16th. This year is a transition year for a lot of teams. Bad teams getting good, good teams getting bad. And bubble teams being bubble teams.

We're 7 points from last place. Arizona is 2 wins away with 2 games in hand, Columbus is also 2 wins away. Our underlyings say we belong in the back third instead of the middle. We've gotten every possible point in overtime. That level is within reach, and if we sold an important player or two earlier rather than later, we could easily drop to the group where we're basically guaranteed top 5 and have a ticket to win the lottery.

It's not that we don't want the Blues to win but we don't see us being an actual contender for the cup and we know we're going to lose valuable players this year. So we should make the most of it and get as many picks and hopefully get a high draft pick while we're at it. If we don't I'm worried about what the next few years may look like.
