I thought Germany was in Europe… isn’t that where our best player is from?
I’m not considering a 3rd overall, automatic pick a feat of the scouting staff.

But yes, Stutzle is the only European NHLer they’ve selected since 2011 with Zibanejad (also at 6th).

Half of the draft pool has been left ignored or terribly scouted. Get some boots in the MHL and VHL, and make some organizational changes with Amatier scouting as a whole, especially European scouting, because we’ve bat 0% with what we do choose from there (outside a top of the draft lay up)

many are the same.... any tanking, any rebuilding has for the most part failed!

This is why Calgary is not tanking. Why no team is tanking. Why no team has jettisoned prospects the last 3-4 years.

The draft is no longer productive. So far no Gen Z has had any impact. (Born 1997 and later. So 27 and younger). Mathew T. is a 1997 birth and is on the edge and is the one exception. Cale Makar went to a loaded team. And now that they have aged out, the Avs are sinking like a stone.

In fact, very few top 10's the last 10 years of drafts have really accomplished much.

This team simply has to wait until everyone ages out above us. The NHL will run out of Millennials (productive age), by 2026/2027. By which time it will be gen Z's and we will compete in the same sty.

Be patient people. The NHL will fall down to us in 2-3 seasons. Leon Drai is 29 and has those 2-3 years left. Just wait.

Fun fact... I was picked on and hung from a hook in my school by Mckenna's uncle Nick and much later in my life, hit from behind head first in to the boards by his dad Will that put me out for weeks with a shoulder injury.
Geez. Sounds like a pleasant family.

Neither of those facts seem very fun...

Lol. They're actually pretty good people as adults, but Nick was a dick as a kid/teenager and that was only a 1 year thing before I moved and went to a different school. All good. We made amends later on. In Will's defense, I'd hit his teammate (another acquaintance) after he'd drilled one of mine and was a whole series of events that led to that and we joked about that later on too. Shit happens.

Well, I guess I'm glad to hear they are "fond" memories for you... If nothing else they make for good stories.

This team and its makeup is treading towards a wildcard team at the very best.

Something needs to give to go from bottom dweller to wildcard team to a contender. I just don't see it with the players that we have.

Only game breaker we have is Timmy and perhaps Sanderson hence why I don't think we should trade either. Everyone else should be up for sale.
That's what they are and they've shown us as much for the past few years.

Any terrible team in this league can go on a 2-3 game winning streak. What separates the good teams from the bad ones is that the good ones will have way more of the winning streaks than the losing ones.

This team is a win 2-lose1-win 1-lose 3-win 2 group. It's foolish to go forward and think changes are not needed here, this core, as constructed, has reached it's ceiling,

I'd like to know what the team's overall records are with and without Danger Flutes.

It's an easy change I suspect will turn everything around.

Rebuild with Canadians, CHL players and Swedes.

Let’s not do this American kid thing again. Isn’t working and these American kids all have one foot out the door already.

You’re confusing you pushing them out the door vs them having a foot out the door given they all signed 8 year deals.

Yes I have received several letters from Gary Bettman over my internet influence here on HFboards (Gary is so cute he calls me ‘Tunes’ and even got to the point I was flown out to Vegas for an Hfboards meeting with Clare Hannah at the high rollers table (FYI Clare told me what to wear)❤️😒❤️😒😊😩😏😏😏

Gonna need to try to get as many points as possible this year and forfeit the 1st. We're not a playoff team this year as it is, hopefully we're not top 5 in drafting either. I think next year is gonna be even worse, we could very well be a bottom 3 team and win the lottery. I don't see this roster coming back in a year, we'll likely lose a few key pieces in trades and still have aging vets/bad contracts to run out next season. We'll be tanking then and keeping that 1st instead.

Over Here
I was in China for a few weeks and missed the losing streak so last night was the first game I’ve seen in awhile. The team certainly looks slower than when I left. Brady looks like he’s staking in mud, is he injured ?
I think he's pouting. The team has stank, he's being called out, tough questions abound - it's not always comfortable wearing the C and he's getting a true taste of that, I think.

This team is not bad enough to finish bottom 3 and not good enough to be a lock to make the playoffs.

It's the absolute worst of both worlds, fighting for the last wildcard spot year in year out.
The Columbus Blue Jackets special. The kings of drafting 6-12.

Ottawa is a prime example of a lot of very good players, but not a very good team syndrome .....

Lawsuit won’t help, he has no case. NHL isn’t stupid, zero chance they’d open themselves up to a lawsuit.

They never hid the penalty, Andlauer was well aware there was one coming. Melnyk’s board and Dorion told him that “it was not a big deal”, or something close.

That just opens the door to so much. They go that route, then it opens the door for Vegas to sue Ottawa for fraud.

The league has rules and for this very reason, Dispute resolution. Ottawa broke the rules, Vegas suffered, the rules on what happens in these situations kicked in and punishment handed down. Maybe there is some argument of excess punishment based on previous incidences, but in reality this has never happened before.
