I give us a slight edge for our top end talent, but I have to confess I’m not comfortable at all comparing our bottom six to TB, and Boston or Colorado for that matter. Every cup winner has received decent contributions, Dubas needs to shore this up and to me it’s a way higher priority than adding a D.

I agree, though I might define "contribution" differently, I believe a responsible defensive, physical game even with just minimal contribution can bring a team to a Cup Final as long as the top two lines do their job.

Dubas has rebuilt the back with depth to spare, he found Bunting and Keefe has them playing a concerted, team two-way game (most of the time). So the hard part is done. If he could put together two hard driving, north/south bottom six that can break through the playoff neutral zones it would do wonders for this teams fortunes in the playoffs. It is fine if its a net zero goal outcome as long as they are wearing down opponents and generating chances game in and out.

As it were, as playoff hockey goes, it always seems to be those unsung, hard nosed players who may not score alot but the goal will be memorable.
