The 1st trade maybe but 2nd no way that would work. Ducks would want more that that.

Ya ducks would want more…. Not sure how you’d get it across the line tbh

Don’t think it was a bad attempt at a trade tho

Both are on long contracts which have negative value because much of it is st 30+. It be different if they were U23

Players' prime years are up to 32-33 year nowadays, Cirelli will be 34 when his contract is over. He's exactly what Buffalo needs, and Buffalo needs to be better right now and not when their 11 OA is NHL ready (if he's ever NHL ready at all). Peyton Krebs while still young doesn't look like more than a 3-4 line tweener, he isn't worth a lot.

As to the next trade, yeah, I doubt Ducks will make it... On the other hand I think there are 2 players only in top5 of this draft worthy to trade up, and they are Celebrini and Demidov. I think you won't get any of them for the 3rd OA...

50/50 odds that Demidov will be available at 3OA. And if he is then he'll almost certainly be available at 4OA too b/c it's very unlikely that the Ducks will take him.

Very possible he goes to Chicago. I think it would be a smart move for Chicago to take him over Demidov as they would be building around a small team.
This small team stuff is so overused and skips over the talent level of Bedard and Demidov is extremely skilled as well.

We often see teams reach for size over skill and that rarely pans out.

Teams just don't trade top 3 picks any more, so I think if you're making that kind of jump, you have to do better than Cernak. Probably a decent amount better, tbh.
Can TB still contend without Cirelli and Cernak? Basically swapping in McDonaugh for Cernak.

Goal for TB is to win with their core they have. They are this committed to the core, so have to go for it.

First trade:

:bolts : Anthony Cirelli

:sabres: 11th overall and Peyton Krebs

Second trade:

:bolts: 11th overall and Erik Cernak

:ducks: 3rd overall

Tampa then drafts either Levshunov or Silayev and clears out 12m in cap space to bring back Stamkos and sign some free agents
Lol

I don’t think either of those trades are realistic.

Especially the second, zero chance.

Prime years end around 29.

These players are on the downside of their careers not worth their cap cost.

Top 15 picks usually have long careers in the nhl. Those are generally safe.

TB wouldnt do this unless we are going full rebuild. In which case we have better pieces to offer than Cernak.

40-45 point players are worth #11 overall since when? Or did I miss him becoming a PPG player. Much less an add from BUF. Hell Necas should easily be be worth #1OA + Ferarro by that logic
