Key matchup: Nazem Kadri vs Steve Stamkos. Kadri has three goals and seven assists in 15 career games against Tampa Bay and will be assigned to watch over Stamkos, who has 16 goals and 16 assists in 27 career games against his hometown team. Kadri has the edge in faceoff wins (50.3 per cent, to Stamkos’s 49.9 per cent).
Need to know: The Lightning, who played in Boston on Sunday night, had won five straight heading into the game. Stamkos had a goal in each of those wins. Tampa Bay has also won the last five games it has played that have gone into overtime (three in OT, two in a shootout) . . . Stamkos has played in 554 NHL games, all with Tampa. He recently passed Brad Richards (552) for fourth all-time in games played with the Lightning . . . The Tampa Bay power play is 2-for-51 on the road since Dec. 6 . . . The Lightning are 26-2-3 when scoring three or more goals and 9-20-1 when scoring fewer than three.
