I think picking anyone over Hedman would have way too many negatives, just from a PR standpoint. Nobody wants to answer "why don't you like hedman?" for two months.
Yeah if it’s not Hedman there are only two potential reasons for it: Either Hedman doesn’t want it and they give it to somebody else (McD?) or they decide to not have a C and only rotating As.

Vasi we win or lose based on his play. Let's put some more pressure on him.

It won’t be, but it would be pretty funny if it was Kucherov. Would go against every narrative and stereotype people hold him to, but who could deny the best player in franchise history deserves it?

BriseBois on the #Bolts new captain: "Victor is an all time great NHL player. If anything, he is underrated. With six straight Norris Trophy nominations, he is in very rare air in the history of our league. He has a Norris, he has a Conn Smythe, two Stanley Cups, four Cup finals, a world championship. He is a very accomplished player. He is one of the best players of his generation and one of the best defensemen in the history of this game. I think 'count them on your fingers' type of player but that is not what makes him the right guy to be the captain of this team. What makes him the right guy to be the captain of this team is how special of a person he is. Victor is humble. He is thoughtful. He is extremely competitive. He is proud. He is driven. He is ambitious and he cares deeply about the success of this franchise. He cares about his teammates and he cares about the Tampa Bay community"

Would love to see hagel with an A at some point this year. Very rarely do you see a guy with the passion this guy does. Not to mention he does it all on the ice but also is very popular and vocal off the ice. Clearly become a fan and team favorite since getting here. Could also set him up to possibly get the C if hedman leaves after this extension👀

Never heard of this guy? Is he good ? Is he able to lead us out the first round?

It will be given to Cirelli and McD I am sure.

If your regarding the A’s this year Mac and Kuch already have been announced. But baring any injuries or if they want to add a 3rd I think hagel is a better fit than Tony. Just a more vocal guy but who knows by the time hedmans done a lot of this core will be on their way out of Tampa, Mac certainly will be gone by then so he won’t be the C if you were saying he should be.

Don’t understand the first part of your reply. Obviously sarcastic but hagel is by no means the reason this team has fallen short. Behind stammer’s performance last year he was our best player. Not sure how that shows he’s not worthy of a letter

Guentzel could get a temporary A. They put him on the podium for media day.

We'll see who gets letters in the preseason games. Probably a lot of the expected guys. Hagel, Point, Cernak, Cirelli, etc.
