Why? Jensen is 2009 5th rounder with zero NHL games. Smith is next summer UFA. Garrison 2 years left. Both guys are 6'2 LHD with about 18min of TOI a game.

There is a 1.5mil cap difference for these 2 guys. If it is about cap, then that s not a big fix.

im a detroit and tampa fan love jensens speed and hate smith lol but i am dumping salary to sign a core

if bishop doesnt move which is very likely in order to not lose a triplet or drouin we will lose one or two players if keep callahan and filppula which might happen even if move one of them we still need to move one more contract in order to sign the bunch we should keep who need to be signed is a simple cap dump deal


bishop moving doesnt help cap at this point he just walks like we could let smith do.

we have about 12 million to sign drouin tyler johnson and ondrej palat not counting many others that we truly need but whom will be less expensive

if had a choice would like to keep namestnikov and killorn also so deals like this to move a couple pieces is addition by subtraction

is not a fun place to be in but is reality next season
