I say this every game, but it really amazes me how people are critical of King.

I think he's finally in a position on that line with Carter/Toffoli in which he can succeed. He does all the dirty work, and he has our two best forwards finishing for him. It's a perfect situation for King, one in which his strengths can be highlighted (safe, strong board play, cycles).

Agreed. If he pots one from time to time, sweet, but I'm not expecting a lot of goals, but I do expect him to be physical.
 
The problem with King is that he goes through stretches where he's god awful.

it's usually when there's a team slump

which is fine, it's not really King's role to start streaking when the overall team sucks

the problem is that when the team is slumping, Kopitar's line has a scoring drought

You just described Kopitar, and every single Kings player over the last Seven years.

Even Quick/Doughty went a month or so this year of being God awful.
