I'm a data guy (though not an admin. guy so I couldn't paste the data in HTML, thus it's not centred), so I couldn't resist looking at the numbers from last year for the Leafs against playoff teams currently in the playoffs outside the North Division.
I will provide the full data below. If my counting is accurate, the Leafs played 27 games in total against current U.S teams in the playoffs, and won 13 games with 1 OTL to the Caps. So a sawed off record.
Numbers are far better under Keefe against the same teams. Leafs went 10-5 against the current playoff teams outside the North. This, while having what I believe is a far less complete team, especially on the backend, and, about 40% different personnel (as I posted elsewhere).
The premise that this team can't complete with these teams is asinine and in my opinion dead wrong. This team have the horses to win it all, all they need to do is bring their game.
First things first, deal with the North Division in the playoffs. Don't consider for a moment this current roster can't compete against any team in the league.
