56 games played. Currently holding a playoff position.

26 games left. 16 at home. 10 on the road. Only 2 back to backs. 18 of 26 games against teams not currently occupying a playoff position.

Strength of schedule wise, some of our main pursuers have difficult schedules and we have the 31st most difficult. Detroit, Columbus and NYR have top 6 most difficult

Injury wise, we need the two centers back and it looks like that should happen.

Everything is in our favour, let's get this done!!!

The goal for this year was to compete for a playoff spot. For some, getting close and just missing out would still have been progress. Making the playoffs is still far from certain. If we can make it, it is definitely an accomplishment to be proud of. The illusion of parity we must overcome to become a contender seems to be coming more visible now. Hopefully this foundation we set serves us well on that longer path. It's looking good.

It’s hard to be optimistic after the Florida road trip, but I’ll get on board.

To make this playoffs that is, not contend.
What do you think this team needs to go from making the playoffs to contending for the Cup?

I think If Yakemchuk turns out to be a stud then we have the goalies (Merilainen and Ullmark) and the defensive group. I think we need a true superstar number 1 centre and another star winger.

Stutzle is here but he needs to be surrounded better. Tkachuk and Batherson are great as #3 and #4 but we're lacking a Top-2 forward, another elite guy an offensive catalyst that will help out the other guys to produce themselves.

More, and better, depth scoring.

Plus a true first line forward to compliment Stu.

Thankful that we're still in a playoff spot and fingers crossed that we can just grind out wins until Norris and Pinto come back

The Sens are in a great place going into the last leg of the season where the schedule is finally in their favour & thanks to this two week break, both Pinto & Norris should be back as well & Ullmark is back & healthy. Hopefully, they will add someone at the trade deadline who will help & be productive for them in some way. This should be the most exciting run to the playoffs the Sens have had in yrs & hopefully we can all get together behind their race to the playoffs & the SC.

I miss Cousins and MacEwen on the bottom line. Would love for these guys to get healthy along with Pinto and Norris.

Gonna be a tense stretch!

I was really hoping we would trade for T.J. Miller. Man that would have been awesome. Hw has been quite durable his whole career and would have been a stabilizing force amongst these youngsters who tend to get injured.

If there is an opportunity to acquire a very good player who has a longer term contract than UFA or a year, I think we should try to get him. This team's time to compete for the SC is in the next several seasons.

Ullmark looking regular is my biggest concern for the remaining games - he’s been very underwhelming since his return and without him at the top of his game it’ll be tough to make the playoffs

If Ullmark get back to being superior we are a real threat, without him at the top of his game we’ll be just a hungry team looking for respect

We play 5 games before the March 7th trade deadline.

Habs Jets Sharks are at home.
Then Caps Blackhawks are on the road.

It will be interesting to see where we are after those 5 games and what will or will not be done at the trade deadline.

Based solely on the word of a source that I made up for the purpose of this thread, Matinpalo is actively recruiting Rantanen to join Ottawa in the off season.

Man, that would be so perfect, probably very hard to fit within the cap but I guess with a Giroux paycut (3.5 AAV) and trading Perron and Amadio without taking cap, it could be done (of course all this is a pipe dream)

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Rantanen
Giroux - Norris - Batherson
Greig - Pinto - Halliday
Reinhardt - Ostapchuk - Gaudette
McEwen

Everyone is in the right chair and would be in the ideal scenario to produce/contribute.
